They are bumbling retards. "Hey guys, we need money and jobs and such. Lets go harass the only people who can really supply us with well paying jobs"
they're waiting for the wealth to trickle down
It's good, someone's gotta fuck with the rich.
they're waiting for the wealth to trickle down
Too bad wealth doesn't trickle down, its not water you know. We all know that money grows on trees to begin with, so these people just need to learn to farm.
They are bumbling retards. "Hey guys, we need money and jobs and such. Lets go harass the only people who can really supply us with well paying jobs"
More like 'Hey, I don't have money or a job because those fucks broke the economy yet are still getting richer by the minute, let's go harass them until someone actually gets indicted for fraud'.
they're waiting for the wealth to trickle down
Shit stopped after we re-fucked welfare.
It's funny to me that people believe so much in "Reaganomics" yet they don't even realize that he destroyed more jobs than he created. He also outsource so much manufacturing overseas it's ridiculous. I'm not condoning anything the Dems are doing either; both sides of the political spectrum need to get their shit together.
What's even more sad is that the unions that these people belong to aren't even fighting for them, they're stuffing their own pockets at the expense of the union members.
The spirit of the "Occupy _____" is in the right place, but it has no objective right now. It needs some clear cut ideas and some actual leaders.
Our entire system needs a major overhaul. Including the government.
Anyone find it a little coincidental that the rich keep getting richer and all the men in the government happen to be incredibly wealthy?

Let me stop you there. No.
What was the source of that was NAFTA signed in the Clinton administration.
I'm not condoning anything the Dems are doing either; both sides of the political spectrum need to get their shit together.
I agree this huge butt shit has been the product of cunts on each dick licker.
What's even more sad is that the unions that these people belong to aren't even fighting for them, they're stuffing their own pockets at the expense of the union members.
Why do unions exist? they have no place in modern society I believe they're one of the reasons why American manufacturing has gone down satan's rectum.
The spirit of the "Occupy _____" is in the right place, but it has no objective right now. It needs some clear cut ideas and some actual leaders.
hahahaha no.
They're not even in the right place. Nor do they have the right idea. They're PROTESTING BEING SUCCESSFUL. How about you occupy Detroit where the real scum bags are at. those Union fuckwads who sit on their ass and take advantage of the blue collar more than the Big business do.
OH WAIT YOU HAVE TO PAY TO BE IN A UNION BIG BUSINESS PAYS YOU.

Answer unions lining the pockets of politicians.
"Hey you can fuck manufacturing as long as you give me money, IDGAF about the economy"
personally I can care less about big businesses doing the same, you wanna know why?
Because they CREATE JOBS.
NOT THE UNIONS. THE UNIONS LICK THE ASSHOLE OF THE US GOVERNMENT WHILE EXTORTING THE PEOPLE.
FUCK SALT.
[editline]19th November 2011[/editline]
HOLY FUCK.
The fact is that Reagan outsourced ALOT of jobs. Plus "trickle down" is nice in theory, EXCEPT IT DOESN'T WORK.
The unions are a piece of shit, but the CEOs and corporations aren't any better. Why are CEOs getting bonuses when the company is losing money and they're laying people off? Why are the CEOs making millions of dollars to begin with?
By "protesting being successful" do you mean they're protesting being layed off by some the richest members of the country, who had to cut some jobs because they couldn't afford the mortgage on their 6th million dollar house?
Wallsteet are much bigger scumbags than the auto industry (although scumbags they are). Wallstreet douchbags are the ones who sold faulty mortgages, then sold them off and bought insurance on them so they'd profit off them when they failed. Wallstreet contributes absolutely NOTHING productive to society.
The fact of the matter is, no matter how much everyone argues about it, or how much we agree or disagree, this country always has been and is run by the wealthy men. This country never was nor is a working man's country. Working men will continually be screwed until the corporations have no influence over the government. Capitalism is a system built and run by greed.
Sorry for being successful
Next time I'll give all my assets away before I GET MY SCROTUM OFF THE SEMEN OF THE UNIONS.
Lets also think about how the police officers macing those protesters are violating our first amendment right to assembly. And how the people who claim to stand up for our rights, actually have no interest in that at all. Our rights go flying out the fucking window as soon as their agenda is threatened.
Also think about how there are zero members of congress who are middle class. How can the middle and lower class be represented in the government if all the members belong to the wealthy upper class?
Why do unions exist? they have no place in modern society I believe they're one of the reasons why American manufacturing has gone down satan's rectum.
In a day and age where corporations are the most powerful and monolithic they've ever been, you want to remove the only means of the workforce negotiating with their employers with any real clout? Sure, the union system needs to be overhauled, but throwing it out the window is just inviting employers to make things even worse for their employees than they currently are.
hahahaha no.
They're not even in the right place. Nor do they have the right idea. They're PROTESTING BEING SUCCESSFUL.
Are you kidding? They're not protesting being successful, they're protesting the richest of the rich literally ruining our economy and then, after talking about 'shared sacrifices', proceeding to get richer while everyone else has to struggle to make ends meet. Not one person has been indicted for the fraud that caused the economic collapse, that's what the protest is about.

So it's alright then. Even though you cheated people and ruined lives and single handedly put people into debt and out on the street, it's okay, because you made lots of money off it.
Sounds like a great system to me. "Hey everyone, don't give a shit about anyone else in this country, just make as much money as you can, even if you screw everyone else in the process. But watch out! Someone richer than you may screw you too!"

What can the coorporations do.
OH WAIT THEY CAN'T DO JACK SHIT BECAUSE THAT BAD SHIT IS ILLEGAL.

And it's also fine that unions extort and blackmail it's own members?

Name one.
Oh right all the ones that are heavily unionized.
And it's also fine that unions extort and blackmail it's own members?

No, I already stated that the unions are fucked.
What can the coorporations do.

Oh, right, because obviously employees have nothing they could possibly stand to gain through collective bargaining. Low pay, lack of benefits, inadequate overtime compensation, all that 'bad shit' is already illegal. We live in a magical fantasy dreamland where, left to their own devices, companies will treat their employees generously and not milk the margins to squeeze every last bit of profit out.
Right because I got fucked on a paycheck on a unionless job and still got compensation.
OH MAN THE SYSTEM IS BROKE MAN.
I got layed off even though the corporation is still very profitable and the top honchos in the company are still making millions and getting million dollar bonuses.
OH MAN THIS SHIT WORKS GREAT
I can't make a joke about that.
But hey maybe your position wasn't needed anymore?
I lost my house because some bank sold me a bad mortgage knowingly, then made a ton of money off the faulty mortgage after they foreclosed on me and put me out on the street.
OH MAN WE SHOULD KEEP THIS SYSTEM IT WORKS PERFECTLY
Wanna know why that happened.
Because of the government forcing the banks to do such.
Which was both Dems and Reps fault.
daily life v3 - occupy airsoft subforum edition
I refuse to believe that the government forced the banks to sell faulty mortgages, then sell them and buy insurance on the debt so they'd make money off the foreclosures.
I do believe however, that the government promises alot of stuff to it's people and then goes "oh sorry, we can't give you this stuff we promised you. So fuck off" They do this especially to soldiers. In fact, when the WW2 veterans marched on Washington to get the benefits the government promised them, they did the same thing they're doing to protester now. They sent out the police department and Army and forced them to leave. Using deadly force against men who spent 4 years fighting a horrific war for them, and they couldn't even be bothered to give them the few things they were promised
Wanna know why that happened.

Uh, no, the government never forced banks to sell downright fraudulent mortgages. It was a lack of governmental regulation that let them do so. Governmental regulation to prevent this awful shit from happening again is the point of the Occupy movement.
Again you guys need to look up your legislation.
1977 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)
Uhhh hi.
[editline]20th November 2011[/editline]
It forced the banks to make the bad loans to un-creditworthy borrowers because they couldn't "discriminate"
No it didn't. It did not make the banks convince people that they could afford houses that were hundreds of thousands of dollars out of their price range, then sell the debt to other investors and buy insurance on it.
i like you back_slash
we go far yes

or else they would be slapped by a discrimination law suit.

If that piece of legislation were what forced banks to do as they did, why did this economic collapse only occur thirty years after that act was signed into law? Why didn't it happen in 1980, after three years of being 'forced' to give bad mortgages?
Decades of bad practices.
If you knew anything about economics.
Shit doesn't happen till everything starts adding up.
