For the record, he did say rap these days. That song is hardly new.
Yo rap is for straight up 8th dimension fools/
I know that generalizations are usually bad, but the genre is largely dominated by thuggish idiots who can come up with a beat but not a melody, and rap solely on the mindless subjects of drugs, crime, and exploitation of women. That's not to say there isn't good rap (after all, it's essentially just spoken poetry set to a beat), but it's buried under mountains and mountains of shit.
I tend to prefer music that combines the spoken aspect of rap with more traditional musical elements of pop or hip-hop. 'Gangsta's Paradise' was a successful example of this, and I've seen some great mixes of Beastie Boys and Ratatat that worked fantastically.
I agree wholly. Mainsteam now a days sucks but things like OF, aesop rock, despot, and El-p make me listen to it often...
on the other hand

Since we're posting music and some people have shared various kinds of metal, here's a piece of heavy metal that most metal fans should recognize the lyrics to:

All aforementioned games are clearly inferior to Age of Empires II.
If I can't make vast armies of longbomen, the game is flawed.
AoE I, best ever. Also, S: Galactic Battlegrounds. All fo the Command and Conquer games. Outlaws.any DOOM game, QUAKE game, etc were my childhood. Also, Warcraft.

um
Revolutionary implies it broke some sort of status quo. A game that uses exclusively concepts seen before and plays more or less like every other FPS isn't revolutionary.
(Also, you should re-read your history, the French Revolution was a massive shift in European politics and paved the way for socially-collective nationalism in an era where countries were still clinging to the old privatized government- there's a reason a monarch was reinstated when Napoleon was ousted by the collective power of the rest of the continent)
I think in the way those terms work, Half Life 1 was revolutionary, CoD4 was innovative
I think in the way those terms work, Half Life 1 was revolutionary, CoD4 was innovative
How so? Half-Life too was a popular and influential game, but it didn't catalyze changes in the FPS genre. Same for CoD4.
Man what are you guys rattling on about anyways, we all know that the innovative FPS segments of Banjo-Tooie revolutionized all future gaming forever.
I just bought Maus, written by Art Spiegelman, it's a biography of the author's father that survived The Holocaust.
