Polygon plays the first 30 minutes of doom, these are the people who review video games
Probably to fit their narrative that games involving guns and violence cannot be fun or good and are not meant for any general audience. I mean, here's a comparison on their "review" on a VR gun simulator (and not their original vid):

The guy for Polygon sounds like such a whiny sniveling coward, holy shit.
polygon should just fuck off, idk what the fuck they're doing but they're doing something so horribly wrong man, it's like they don't even like actually playing or reviewing games
Polygon needs to get it together. All this stuff makes them look terrible, but still, their Monster Factory series is still one of the funniest things out there.

"as a man living in Cincinnati, Ohio, a gun in my home wouldn't make me feel safe"
Bitch, please. You don't live in Cincinnati and feel safe ever.
Also, you're a gigantic fucking pussy.
FPSonconsoles.mp4
I didn't know this game supported N64 controllers.
It looks like 2 people are playing on the same controller
One time I wanted to introduce Portal to a friend of mine but she had never played a first-person game before and couldn't get the hang of the controls. We decided to cooperate - one of us used WASD to move and the other used the mouse to aim and shoot.
Needless to say it was not very efficient.

Their "[x] Game Dev plays Mario Maker" series is really good too.

Of course, Polygon isn't doing an awful lot to generate that content.

Damn that looks awful. The enemies are slow to react and get staggered easily, they seem more or less unable to hit you when you move around.

He was playing the babby difficulty.

If you play on any difficulty above normal, the enemies will ruthlessly gun you down in seconds with infuriatingly perfect aim. I've even noticed the imps are crazy good at leading their shots.
I couldn't even watch more than the first minute or two, it was like a cringe video.

Lol what is with people jumping to conclusions based off one piece of media? A piece of media played by an idiot on easy difficulty at that. Grow up.
My dog can play better.
So could mine. My dog is dead.

People who immediately decided they were going to dislike the game upon its announcement looking for excuses to justify their decision.
I'm physically stunned after watching the first ten minutes. How?
How?????????
Makes me wonder: just bad at games or spoiled by playthroughs with developer provided god mode and such?

Eh, god mode was how I had enough of a chance to get better and not need god mode. This just looks like they're bad at games and barely play them.

are you guys fuckin serious?
you're a sissy or a sniveling coward if you hate real life guns? that's fucked.
i love guns in fantasy, when they're not real. real ones are awful though. they are made to do as much damage to humans as possible. how is that not okay to dislike?

I don't like guns in real life, but come on. The guy is playing a VR game and is complaining about his ears ringing as if he got fucking PTSD from playing the demo. "A gun model this realistic isn't fun, I'm not enjoying this".
As far as I can tell the majority of the time he is talking it is about himself and not the actual game.
It reeks of canapes and Filipino politics.
sure that's pretty unreasonable for a video on the game especially since it does fall under the category of 'not a real gun' but calling him a sissy seems more targeted at his opinion rather than the fact he expressed it where it didn't make a lot of sense
[editline]14th May 2016[/editline]
i would say 'man what a shitty video' and not 'wow what a fucking sissy pansy subhuman for not LOVING GUNS!!!'

I call him a sissy because it's a fake gun in a video game that doesn't exist that scares him and he complains waay too much about it. I mean come on be brief and less melodramatic jesus.
But hey at least it speaks volumes that a fake gun in VR feels real enough to be relatable to his past experience.

he's a "sissy" because it's not real and he's complaining and reacting like it was the real life version of it and he's really not talking about the game at all, he's really just talking about himself, his past, his story, his thoughts(not about the game even though)
the guys at giant bomb may not be the best at video games but they clearly play them on a regular basis
Speaking of, their quick look went up! Brad manages to die in the first 5 seconds of the game on Ultra-violent, but does a lot better then Polygon man.

sorry but if you get unnerved by the sight of a firearm in a controlled environment you have either had a seriously traumatizing experience with one or you are a little bitch
finding a gun and holding it is not a traumatizing experience ergo mister polygon editor is the latter
seriously - what is it gonna do? jump up and shoot you? look, i get the argument that they're designed to kill people and to an extent that's true - but what a firearm actually does is entirely up to the user who, in the vast majority of cases, isn't going to kill someone with it. whether you "like" them or not is up to you but don't delude yourself about the kind of danger they represent - they are not venomous snakes waiting to strike, they are neutral, unopinionated tools that require someone to operate them in order to do anything at all. being afraid of a firearm that isn't being waved at you or someone else is irrational.
not to make this a political debate, but this wraps back around to the polygon editor becoming freaked out by not even a real gun but a fake, imaginary gun that was "too realistic". this is the kind of person that needs a safe space when someone disagrees with him slightly harshly. it's idiotic.
this post is not taking a side in the gun debate, just laying down facts about what firearms are and how they're used. to dislike them based on an understanding of what they can be used to do, combined with an opinion that people in general cannot be trusted with that type of tool is fair play - to me it rings a little controlling but that's down to an ideology difference and not sheer fear and ignorance. conclusion? "i dislike guns" and "i am afraid of guns" are two very different positions.
Guns are made to do LOTS of damage. To melons and bottles of water. Poof, pow, sploosh, kablang, melon bits and water all over the fucking place!
[editline]14th May 2016[/editline]
Seriously its just what you wanna do with it. I myself love guns because to me its fascinating that such a well designed piece of machinery is capable of spitting pieces of lead at such a high rate. I just like weapons, I guess. Not because I wanna kill people. If I wanna 'kill' people I'll just go airsofting and imagine there's blood all over the place.
Guns aren't inherently bad. Its the person holding it that makes it an object made for terrible things or an object made for fun things. Hickock45 is someone who does the latter and Zimmerman for example does the former.
But its hard to take irrational fear for a thing away, I suppose.

And then here you are again with your ridiculous statements. Nobody said you're a pussy if you don't like guns.

Kind of pathetic in my opinion, I don't think you have to be a fan of guns to be able to appreciate its mechanics, or at the very least the game its mechanics, this whole video is just about his poor experience with guns. The game itself looks impressive to me, it al seem pretty well worked out.
Also the doom footage was pretty bad, I don't play on consoles myself, but even i have no trouble adapting to a controller in like 5 minutes and the guy was still playing like he had 1 arm after 20 minutes.
I broke a nail while firing an AK74 now I have PTSD for life
