Because it's a bad idea, why not just get better gears than JG if you absolutely must change out your gears.
Because the absolute maximum I can spend on gears is $10, I'm getting $300 for christmas, plus I'm getting a set of shims which are about $3 so I have absolutely no money left.
You shouldn't even bother touching your gears until a problem arises. Stick with just shims for now because I'm positive your gears won't break for at least a couple of months if at all

But when the problem arises if a gear breaks its going to more than that with it. I guess I'll just get the JG's as backup gears.
Do you expect a problem to arise with G&P anything?

From what I've heard from the gun techs I have consulted yes.
the gun techs you have consulted should be shot

If you don't trust the gun you're buying, why are you buying it?
Just save the $10 and get better gears down the road IF something happens to the stock ones
If you don't trust the gun you're buying, why are you buying it?
Its going to be a project gun.
a g&p wont ever break as long as youre dont a dumbass.

get something cheaper for a project gun, jesus christ. get like, a CM if you want a project gun.
Buying amazing gun + putting shit gears in it =/= project gun
Get the SRC T91. It's only $99 on Airsplat and it's the same performance/quality of a CM. If all you want is a project gun, don't pick anything expensive.
Why not just run the gun stock. Why does everyone feel they need to replace all the parts in their brand new gun?
What ever the fuck happened to don't fix it if it ain't broke?
Some people (like me) enjoy tinkering and strive to get the most out of our purchases. Not defending Zero's decision here since I don't think those gears are going to be an upgrade at all, but when it comes to airsoft guns where everything's modular and intercompatible all you're buying when you get a gun is a particular external body with a particular set of internal parts.

I agree with this, but the point is to get better parts when you replace them.
guys im going to get a ferrari and then replace the engine with one from a honda civic. Because the honda civic can run on regular gas = better engine, right?
All of my project guns are expensive as hell, that's why they're projects. They require work so that I can afford to buy them, and then work to make them awesome. And that's how you end up with magic death machines like my shotguns and G36 as opposed to regular guns that just look neat.
However, I also agree that you should leave the gearbox alone until something breaks, unless you have to do a spring swap, and you may as well shim while you do that.
Backup JG gears aren't a terrible idea, but I don't think anything will go wrong with your G&P, and if something does go it won't be within the first month or two. You should have plenty of time to save up cash for any set of gears you want.
Just fucking drop it already, its my fucking gun I'll do what I want with it. Jesus fucking christ.
If you don't want our opinion, don't ask us.
Guys, just let the stupid fucker do what he wants with his gun. We can't stop him, and if he wants to make it worse so fucking be it.
I didn't want your fucking opinion, All I put was my next airsoft purchase. I never said "Oh heres what I want to buy next, Can I have your opinions?"
Well you posted it, therefore wanted some feedback. We gave you some, and you continue to rate me dumb for trying to help you.

Fuck it I'm done, Its christmas eve and I don't feel like arguing with anyone about this. I'm just going to get the gears as backup gears now. I'll stick to shims until these G&P gears break.
