Nothing wrong with emojis, only the whatsapp/apple emojis are uncanny-valley-y cringey sometimes and I wish the Android ones were standard 🐋💨

My main problem with emojis is a lack of good/consistant art direction. They remind me of designs of those free cursor websites from 2006

I hate emojis too. I mean, I don't hate people who like them, you write your post in whichever way you want, but it feels like a cop-out to put an emoji there instead of trying to express yourself with actual words. I wanna tell people I'm happy instead of just putting a little symbol there saying "I am happy!" It's like trying to make people laugh by posting a meme instead of telling a joke.

Why are they called emojis though? We had a word for them and then we just threw it out for no identifiable reason. The only good emojis are skype "mojis" which allow me to spam my remaining friends with minions laughing, minions cheering, and minions saying "whaaat?"
