The corolla, the official car of a holographic singer. Why did they think this was a good idea?
Well at least they know how to sell a car to the Otaku culture of the US.

I'm pretty sure the age 11-17 weaboo demographic for new cars isn't quite there.

Man. I know all the lyrics. Felt put to shame. BUT, with that said, why would they try this for an advert in America?
I for one welcome our new Vocaloid overlord. [editline]6th May 2011[/editline]
Man. I know all the lyrics. Felt put to shame. BUT, with that said, why would they try this for an advert in America?
More then half of Vocaloid sales and songs are outside of Japan. Japan...51.2% USA...40.9% Europe...4.1% Canada...2.5% Australia...1.1% Mexico...0.1% (May 2010) This is the statics recently released by Crypton and the above figures represent the sales of the songs released from KarenT (Crypton's label) on iTunes Music Store. It show that the sales outside Japan especially US has been rapidly growing and the US sales even temporarily surpassed Japan in January 2010. This statistic doesn't show the actuall number of the sales and I guess it's pretty small compared to mainstream music. But it's still surprising to see that there is a market for vocaloid songs in the west too.
I paused the video once I saw something familiar.
It must be very small, because I haven't heard about it until I became interested in Japanese culture.
It must be very small, because I haven't heard about it until I became interested in Japanese culture.
Vocaloids are relatively new. Hatsune Miku came out in 2007. I have a few friends that know about Vocaloid other then that I am mostly alone.
Wow, i don't know how ANYONE could like that noise.
Wow, i don't know how ANYONE could like that noise.
Thats normal in Japan. They probably view your choice strange and new. Now I will agree that Miku is extremely high pitched, I would easily prefer the other Vocaloids such as Rin or Luka. Their voices are much more human sounding.
the corolla isnt a work of art
but it is a piece of work [editline]6th May 2011[/editline]
Thats normal in Japan. I understand where your coming from, But people like this music like how some people love a cartoon or a movie.
