Oh god some bitch girl in my class was blasting this over her iPod touch. I am so tempted to give her a katana and say "Love Japan so much? Then show me Seppukku!"

All these 'our car is ~art~' ads normally make me gag. This one almost killed me.
That is hardly anything at all. I mean, have people forgotten about this car ad?
Apparently you missed this post. If about half of vocaloid sales are in English-speaking countries, it seems like a reasonable marketing choice, based on the data provided. What they did realize, however, is that it would alienate a larger demographic. I think your reply is silly. Wouldn't it rather be the reaction of anyone that has common sense? How does someone being interested in a specific culture and said culture's offerings affect how they view a poorly thought out ad?
If the total vocaloid sales is ~50,000 (Totally made up number, I don't know), then it's a moronic marketing choice. Just because 1/2 of all vocaloid sales are from outside Japan doesn't mean it's worth targeting those 25,000 (based on made up number) out of 300 million. If they went with a country singer, even not so well known, they multiply their potential demographic by tens of thousands.
How do you feel when you watch a animated cartoon, movie, read a book, or even video games when theres real activities out there? I understand where your coming from, But people like this music like how some people love a cartoon or a movie.
a cartoon is a distilled real image a cartoon is designed to filter out the noise in a figure and leave only the bits that are important it's a way of expressing character without even speaking or gesturing, it's also a way to make incredibly imaginative ideas come to life on a budget that would cripple a live action movie this is shoddy emulation of real singing

haha
I'm just going to chalk up this Miku crap to a large section of Japan purposefully segregating itself from humanity, in the same way that a large section of the US is going completely bugfuck insane.
Haha, that horrid scream can be the car's alarm.
not the best way to debut in the US, miku
