I just watched Vampires in Venice, it was fucking awesome. I hope the doctor actually investigates the weird shit going on instead of just going "LOL THAT'S ODD I'LL LOOK INTO IT LATER"

Not seen it for a while but didn't one ship fly off before the rest got destroyed, maybe the ones that stayed were caught by the crack and the ones that flew off weren't. Not sure though.
I enjoyed this episode, but I was let down by The Doctor. At the end of the day, a city for an entire species wasn't really that big a deal and besides, couldn't he have just taken them to an empty planet? He offered that to those spider people.

I thought the ending could of been done better, like having the fishy woman standing on the board telling the Doctor that he has to choose between destroying Venice or destroying an entire species. Doctor offering them an empty planet. Then having the fishy woman tell him that they couldn't survive without the girls, the Doctor saying they could not have any of Earth's and then she jumps into the water.

Well, the offering of the girls to the fish-people is kinda similar to the sacrifices of maidens to the Deep Ones, although in The Shadow Over Innsmouth, the inhabitants of the town willingly joined with the Deep Ones, interbreeding with the human populace, whilst in this episode Mrs Calvierri was converting young girls into "fish-wives" for her hundreds of sons, and had no connection to Cthulhu whatsoever.

Anyway. the scene where the doctor comes out of the cake is a Crowning Moment of Funny in itself.
Episode wasn't as good as the previous episodes.
Looking forward to the next episode though!
