Valve pls release Saxton Hale and jungle assets for SFM. Spark some life back into that community.
The animation is nice but I dunno it just seems...lackluster to me. That might just be me. Nice that there's gonna be new maps but just doesn't seem enough to me, cool that Saxton finally has an official model.
I'm not convinced at the moment or hyped, but maybe it'll be better than what I think.

They already showed a new weapon and they've spoken before that they're making major balance changes. That's pretty interesting to me, at least. It'll get me playing when it's been months since I last tried it.

Why recreate something that's already existing and works perfectly fine?
It'd be silly of them to spend the time modeling a new grate (and, as later pointed out, a new crate) just for this short, when they'll end up looking more or less the same anyways (in the case of the crate, it'd have a more cohesive art-style, but would still be glimpsed so briefly it wouldn't make a difference).
Absolutely nothing wrong with recycling assets.
After all, recycling is one of the core mantras of programming.

it's weird because....it feels like they jerk off spy and scout but leave everyone else alone, so it feels like spy and scout are the main characters now. :/
I booted up tf2 yesterday and haven't played since MVM and I have no clue what the fuck is going on.
Isn't Heavy the icon of TF2?

I think people are right that it's probably just an issue of securing the voice actors. The ongoing comic has been far more balanced in comparison, especially the later installments. Now if only they would just release the final issue....

the intro all the way up to before the [sp]saxton reveal[/sp] was pretty weaksauce imo, but i thought once they were introduced it got real good, i was grinning the whole time
who's the voice actor for Saxton? He sounds really familiar.

It's also within the realm of possibility that this was affected by the voice actor's strike. This update has been in development for like a year and a half, who knows when they actually finished the short.

The last short with voice acting was Expiration Date, no? I believe the only one they didn't get back for it was Grant Goodeve - Gary Schwartz didn't do any Heavy lines but he did voice the like, two Demo lines for it.
Most of this shit is community created which is fine but I guess you can just pick what the community made, toss it in an update and ay presto "valves doing something"

One of the bigger pieces of it is weapon rebalancing/new weapons which is on Valve, at least. Or the TF Team to be more specific. But I get what you mean.

Hell, if this update delivers, I might install this bugger of a game after years! TBH, I miss playing this game at times. It's some good arcadey fun type of game.

It's only day 1 of a 4 day update, and one of the things coming in the update is a huge overhaul of pyro. I think it's a bit too early to call the update just a copy + paste job.

I'll be very surprised if Valve makes the majority of the content during the next 3 days
i'm pretty used to Hale's voice on VSH so listening to his actual voice here, idk, it seems like it doesn't fit.
Isn't the Pyro being reworked or something? It'd be pretty great if he got a jetpack by default. Still don't think I'll be playing this unless there's some pretty major rehauls of what went wrong with TF2.
