Well I've seen them do it on /mu/ a lot. Any time someone didn't like a /mu/ essential album, they listened to it wrong and it has deep meanings that you only hear after multiple listens.

Yes there is. There is plenty of cohesive conversation. It's true that community may be lacking when compared to say here, but there is definitely a stronger culture.

No. It seems like you're just trying to not understand this. It's as if the Review The Last Album You Listened to thread we have just added mediafire links.
It is literally a more active and varied version of here.
It's clear that there's a culture, I'm just confused as to how people become a part of it.

of course not. we're talking 4chan where you can generally be anonymous and do whatever without having a name unless you get a trip so it's really just going to be one time stuff and it just so happens others like that -- tbh the lack of an "actual community" (semantics! let's not get into it!) is the reason i left /mu/ myself in october but the amount of people it has makes passing music around a lot easier.
sharethreads work in this format (iirc)
artist - album
>genre

and the album art posted in the initial image area of the post itself, and there's a lot of themed threads too (turntablism, metal, concept albums maybe, etc)
is this detailed enough or must we go into something else
tldr people post albums and find stuff what don't you understand

You can make or wait for a sharethread with a specific genre. If you want to discuss a specific band you can look for a thread or make one. It doesn't work any differently.

I discover music mostly using rym and whatcd. In addition to that, there's word of mouth, which last fm and this place is a big part of. (then there's blogspots and other things)
Seeing as you people think it's a truly great place to discover music, I'll try it for myself.

And if it weren't a great place to discover music then I'd say a huge amount of the music I listen to is completely void because the place I discovered them has it's own communal jokes.

I don't think people actually do that with field recordings specifically, I was exaggerating
Field recordings are pretty good
But also, /mu/ is a bit shit nowadays, it used to be better but now it's just there for feel threads and occasional genre-specific shares

anonymity is what's with the replies. and like take_opal stated the reply format is fairly different than actual forums. the ">>#" in posts is quoting the post number in the thread. if you click it it'll take you to the post in that thread that was replied to and highlight it
tbf i just ctrl+f'd "share" in the past few pages on /mu/ and i couldn't find any besides 1 30+ post one.
i remember being able to find plenty a long time ago
