they have two distinct eras (sonically) which seem to correlate with the loss of two of the original members, one in 1999 and one in mid 2000 (just for reference, that recording is from around 2002(?)), the first era being much more abrasive and noisy, the second being much more rooted in traditional songwriting

electric rollergirl isn't bad but maki wrote literally everything on schoolgirl pop and it just didn't turn out as well without input from the rest of the band
actually the bass player had a lot of input (apparently) and wrote "hello stan" among others (?). The more I listen to second era the more I like it, including school girl pop. I really didn't like it either and even now I don't listen to it as much as the other stuff, but its alright
They sound like the Powerpuff Girls started a 3-chord punk band, but they're hot. There's always that. Good stage presence.
