7/9 albums are soundtracks. Thats just... why
Would you count Metroid Metal as a soundtrack? Anyway, how many of those soundtracks have you heard?
Yes, I'd count Metroid Metal as a soundtrack. I haven't listened to that many soundtracks, but you should really start to listen to more... well... "actual" music.
I find that music is what you make of it. I'll listen to Cake as much as I would Metroid or any other soundtrack that I have.

i've seen Ire Works in a lot of grids lately, why is there no love for calculating infinity?
709/1000
The following are the artists with the most occurences in your list Black Sabbath (9) Metallica (9) Slayer (7) Ozzy Osbourne (7) Iron Maiden (7) Megadeth (7) Motörhead (7) Anthrax (7) Judas Priest (6) Pantera (6) AC/DC (6) Foo Fighters (6) Dio (5) Deep Purple (5) Led Zeppelin (5) Andrew Jackson Jihad (4) Cynic (4) Soundgarden (4) Death (4) Kreator (4) yayz, it's back above the 700 mark
Mine's 720, but that thing is so broken. It's listing system doesn't work very well. Half the time, mine drops down below 500 for no reason.

Man soundtracks are half of what got me into music. I still listen to this shit sometimes
soundtracks are valid music
Man soundtracks are half of what got me into music. I still listen to this shit sometimes
Soundtracks are good and nice and useful for people who are not into music that much yet. I'm just saying that you should probably branch out a bit if most of your music's soundtracks.
Soundtracks are good and nice and useful for people who are not into music that much yet. I'd put Nobuo Uematsu up there with Steven Wilson on a list of awesome music makers.
but very very few people listen to composers as opposed to just specific soundtracks for specific games, and yes, usually people that listen to soundtracks do listen to much outside of soundtracks [editline]13th March 2012[/editline] I used to only listen to videogame music too
I think you're not giving the composers enough credit. I'd put Nobuo Uematsu up there with Steven Wilson on a list of awesome music makers.
I think I give them enough credit. I think Yoko Kanno is one of the best composers I've heard. The thing I dislike about soundtracks, however, is that whenever you hear a song, you think of the section from the movie/game/tv show where that song played instead of giving you the freedom of creating your own world for the song. If that makes any sense. [sub][sub]oh god I'm starting to sound like Akayz[/sub][/sub]
