nobody tags male vocalists because there are a lot more males given the prop up in music than women.
The gender of the vocalist shouldn't matter, and definitely shouldn't warrant a tag. Except for maybe Visual Kei, where I'd sometimes like to know what gender they're supposed to be
The gender of the vocalist shouldn't matter, and definitely shouldn't warrant a tag. Except for maybe Visual Kei, where I'd sometimes like to know what gender they're supposed to be
it's a tag nerd calm down. I like female vocals so for me it's a helpful tag
it feels terrible
This because it implies something of a superiority issue imo Saying someone has "good taste" in music is pretty pretentious. It's implying that you can dictate what is good and what is not
Where do I find this?
Paste my taste option next to your charts. [editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
This because it implies something of a superiority issue imo Saying someone has "good taste" in music is pretty pretentious. It's implying that you can dictate what is good and what is not
I've been through "all my music is shit" phases where I tried to live solely on what the indie community decided was good. Then I went through a "discovering music purely on my own" phase where I sort of listened to whatever the fuck was near me, and then I went through "fuck that, I'll listen to what I'll like" where I went for all the metalcore and post-hardcore trash I felt like. Now I kind of mix the three and I've never enjoyed music so much.
This because it implies something of a superiority issue imo Saying someone has "good taste" in music is pretty pretentious. It's implying that you can dictate what is good and what is not
I think you're reading into it too much. If you say someone has "good taste" you're pretty much just saying you like what they listen to. It's more of an expression than anything. [editline]14th June 2012[/editline] Unless you mean someone saying that they themselves have good taste in which case yea ignore everything I just said.
I think you're reading into it too much. If you say someone has "good taste" you're pretty much just saying you like what they listen to. It's more of an expression than anything.
Not really. Many communities seem to have pre-defined what's good and isn't, regardless of if they like it or not. That's where "guilty pleasures" start to come in, e.g. "<band> are my guilty pleasure because I like their music but they don't tie in with my community's evaluation of what is and isn't good". At that point music becomes a tool to further your image rather than an art.
True, people here aren't really like that though.
