This is a democratic republic. Meaning: it doesn't matter how strongly you feel you are right: if a majority of the population doesn't agree with you, tough shit. Guess what? 52.9% of the American population thought that Obama would be a more proper president than McCain. 52.9% of the American population disagreed with you.
Just because someone you don't like got elected doesn't mean that the whole government is flawed.
Would you stop pushing an agenda? This thread isn't about Obama, this thread is about gun control.
There's a hell of a lot more corrupt politicians in Washington than just Obama, so I don't know why you automatically assume I'm some sort of arrogant fool who pins it all on him.
Yes, we know he's your personal god, you make it apparent in every thread.
Here's what's going to happen. The good citizens of USA are going to turn in there automatic weapons.
Then you should have acted sooner. If you want to complain when you lose a fair election, that's fine by me. But don't fucking talk about it necessitating some sort of revolution. That's retarded. YOUR SIDE LOSES SOMETIMES That's a fact in any country that holds elections. Either deal with it, or move to a country where there are no elections.
Who's my side? And where did I talk about Obama getting elected warranting a revolution?

No, he's not my personal god. I hate obama, screw that guy. But it pisses me off when people act like he's the political antichrist.
If everybody had guns the last living man on earth would be the one who's most skilled with guns.
Banning guns is no good for the crime levels.
Who's my side? And where did I talk about Obama getting elected warranting a revolution?
You talked about how you personally could get a leader out of office. I used the 2008 election as an example. If you want to get a leader out of office, YOU USE THE POLITICAL SYSTEM WE HAVE IN PLACE INSTEAD OF WAVING GUNS AROUND AND TALKING ABOUT AN ARMED REVOLUTION
Since there's a standoff, lets bring another ace into play.
Medicare and Medicaid are both government own. They are a massive black hole for money. Take this up a notch or two to national level. Think of a black hole deciding its little space was too small and decides it'll take over the milky way. We got a 3 trillion deficit, we don't need anything else to further increase that debt. And the liberals still think we haven't spent enough. Hell they think FDR didn't spend nearly enough during the Great Depression.
"If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns"
Louis L'Amour quote? I used it in the other thread, and it's so true.
Here's what's going to happen. The good citizens of USA are going to turn in there automatic weapons. So uh, in your world will there be power armor?
You talked about how you personally could get a leader out of office. I used the 2008 election as an example.
Where did I say that?
Someone else said I should attempt to do that. Maybe you should start reading over posts.
I basically said all you can do is cover your own ass and hope for the best because things are too far gone to do anything about any more. When the media can say "Here's a republican candidate and here's a democrat candidate" and make the American public pick between 2 people with nearly the exact same political agenda, all hope of anything ever changing for the better is lost.

If people are sick, they are unable to work. Fewer sick people = a larger workforce. A larger workforce = a stronger economy.

So if you've completely given up hope; then why are you trying to stop gun control? If you truly believed that it was impossible for you to change the system in any way, then you wouldn't be trying to argue in favor of changing the system.

An unarmed force that knows the terrain can do a lot of damage to an army that is better equipped if the right methods are used.

How many people are currently too sick to work that would be able to return to work under Obama's healthcare plan?

Because you're not changing the system gun control wise.
Guns are legal and easily obtained. It's simply maintaining those rights that we have to worry about. I.E. Covering your own ass.
How many people are currently too sick to work that would be able to return to work under Obama's healthcare plan?
Why are you arguing with me? I thought you said: "all hope of anything ever changing for the better is lost."
If you believed that, you wouldn't care enough to argue.
Except it isn't like what Europe has.
You're ignorant of how it works. I suggest you read over it before you voice any support on it.
I'm pretty sure you are ignorant of how OUR healthcare works. ORof its inefficiency and greed on behalf of insurance companies. OR rather of how Europe's healthcare system works for that matter either.

I think you misread my post, here I'll make it easier to read:

b-b-but teh horror stories? I've heard anecdotal evidence against their system and as you know anecdotal evidence is totally a valid source of evidence in debate

I hope you not expecting the US army to be that smart!
Don't worry I am American And i mean no offense to those war veterans!

What?
The army that knows the terrain to which he was referring was the insurgents.

I will say that the Americans don't have the right mentality for unconventional fighting. That has been shown again and again. It's not really your fault as you have never really encountered an enemy until recently that you couldn't swamp. A lot of Europe has had to deal with it however, its something that we know a lot better.
I will get in now also and say that i have a lot of respect for all the soldiers who fought in the latest bouts of guerrilla wars, before anyone starts thinking i don't. I don't like the command decisions that condemned many soldiers.
And the army knowing the terrain would be the civilians. Even armed with basic household objects they can cause a lot of damage.

'Nam. Unless your timeframe of recently includes 'Nam.

I meant Afganistan more. Nam was a stupid decision that lead soldiers to their deaths. It was more the fault of the high ups.

But..you lost in vietnam.
Big difference, people are addicted to alcohol as a depressent, people just like guns because they think it gives them power. Don't lie, that's the reason people own more than one.

Exactly, it's not like you actually need 8 guns to defend yourself..

or maybe they want to shoot recreationally and use different types of firearms.

Err anyway. Guns are fun but join the army if you wanna feel big, thats the impression I get from gun owners anyway. People don't act as tough when they've got someone shooting back at them.
But..you lost in vietnam.
Yes. Okay. And?
or maybe they want to shoot recreationally and use different types of firearms.
If you want to shoot guns you should do what Germany does, allow you to own them at a gun club and and do as you wish on that property with them. Weather it be repair them or shoot them.

Protip, people in the army constantly get scared because they're getting fucking shot at too.
Joining the army does not suddenly turn you into Rambo with no fear of being in conflict.

The US and Germany have completely different stances on weapons and culture. Hell, back in WW2 they thought shotguns were inhumane etc.
