He's saying if you get a rush from shooting guns, just join the army. I think most people don't because they want to drink beer and shoot from their porch.

Theres a country called Britan. Hey look, no guns!
Like Jerry Braunum (Trevor Moore) said, "Even if you made handguns illegal, you wouldn't be taking them out of the hands of criminals. You'd only be taking them away from the good, honest, hardworking gun collectors and hunters." Another good quote from the video. "People don't kill people with giant boulders!" "They will if you take away their assault rifles." On topic, the first quote is a serious one. It's true, there are so many black market guns sold right now, they would still be around no matter what you ban.
Big difference, people are addicted to alcohol as a depressent, people just like guns because they think it gives them power. Don't lie, that's the reason people own more than one.
Or maybe they're a collector? What about hunting? While your reason may apply to some gun owners, that they "think it gives them power", it certainly doesn't apply to all of them. What's wrong with owning more than one gun? What if you enjoy shooting different types of guns? Why do you need to own more than one car? Why do you need to own more than one property? Don't be so narrow minded.

It's pretty ignorant to shove all gun-owners into a stereotypical mold.
Durhh. Because anyone who has a gun would automatically be an outlaw. That's essentially saying something like: "If someone owns a Toyota Camry, they are a Toyota Camry owner."
dude oh my god lol you're so ignorant and bad at understanding context i'm not even going to tell you what he meant. you're going to SIT there and you're going to figure it out yourself and if you can't...

it is against the law obama! :cop:
Theres a country called Britan.
No there isn't.
So if you want to keep them for hunting or collections, why is gun registration such a bad thing?
Invasion of privacy in my opinion. Why does the government need to have a database of who owns guns? Certain states do require you to register your gun(s), but there's no federal database and I doubt there ever will be.

I'm pretty sure that's not a power strictly delegated to the federal government under the Constitution, and therefore should be left to the states.
Invasion of privacy in my opinion. Why does the government need to have a database of who owns guns?
I would have thought that would be evident.
I would have thought that would be evident.
What?
Actually we can, but america just doesn't want too because our own government is afraid to have more power. Pussies.
This has to be one of the dumbest comments I've read on this forum in over a week.
Agreeing with you to a degree. There IS gun crime in England, but it's a fraction of the US. Most unregistered guns (the guns in the hands of people who shouldn't have them) IN the UK are old, decrepit and generally shitty relics that haven't been looked after. But it's also a matter of culture, in England we don't really have an obsession with shooting things. I find the need to own a firearm totally alien to me. If someone comes into my house in the middle of the night, of course I'll want to defend myself. But I don't want to kill him! Twat him with a cricket bat or something and call the police. Burglary does not carry the death penalty and I don't want to be judge, jury and executioner.
I agree. You can get a licensed firearm to use it for things like hunting and whatnot. Although it's uncommon. I don't understand how it's so easy to get hold of a gun for what, $50 in a little corner shop but it's illegal to use it on someone. Sort of eliminates the point. I mean, if someone broke into my house, I'm sure I could improvise, and use a household object to beat that guy down. I don't want to shoot them.
So if you want to keep them for hunting or collections, why is gun registration such a bad thing?
Because it allows the government to know exactly how many firearms you possess, and what type. Firearm registration has helped solve less than a dozen crimes in this country. It is merely a prelude to confiscation. The sole exceptions to this rule are automatic weapons. Those are registered.
What?
You mean you don't think the government should have a database of all the potentially lethal weapons in each household for the protection of everyone?
I would have thought that would be evident.
This just in IronPhoenix is in favor of invasions of privacy [editline]01:11PM[/editline]
You mean you don't think the government should have a database of all the potentially lethal weapons in each household for the protection of everyone?
Frankly, no.
You mean you don't think the government should have a database of all the potentially lethal weapons in each household for the protection of everyone?
No. Potentially lethal? That includes a shitload of things such as cars, knives, baseball bats, plastic bags, etc. Almost everything is potentially lethal. But for guns, no. That's invasion of privacy in my opinion, and that doesn't help protect anyone.
They couldn't ban guns if they wanted to.
This just in IronPhoenix is in favor of invasions of privacy [editline]01:11PM[/editline] Frankly, no.
It's not really an invasion of privacy wanting a person to register what guns they own and for what purpose, it's more common sense.
That's brilliant! Lets have murderers walking out of prison and buying a unregistered gun. Then when he kills someone with it and drops the weapon in a ditch, we have no idea where it has been or where he got it.

Alcohol was different because they established a monopoly over it. Weed and such could be turned into a monopoly, but the drugs have a strong hallucinogenic property that they are far more dangerous to others than themselves.

If they are, then they are committing a felony. Your point is void. [editline]02:08PM[/editline]
Alcohol was different because they established a monopoly over it. Then when he kills someone with it and drops the weapon in a ditch, we have no idea where it has been or where he got it.
It's not hard to dispose of a firearm. Throw it in a body of salt water, hide it in a car that's doomed to go through the crusher sometime soon, go bury it in the middle of Yellowstone National Park... Hell, some guy had a whole marijuana farm in Yellowstone till some tourist discovered it while on a helicopter ride. Also, I would advise you read this article on gun registration. It does nothing for the people. It's merely a prelude to confiscation. http://420.thrashbarg.net/wtf_4chan_girl_bike_pizza_motivational.jpg (part of it...)
As Parliament breaks for summer, the opposition is mobilizing to stop a private member's bill to scrap the long gun registry. Yet there is no convincing research showing that the gun registry has saved a single life. The homicide rate had fallen impressively before 2001, when the long gun registry started, but has remained relatively stable since. In 1991, the homicide rate was 2.7 per 100,000, in 1996, the homicide rate was down to 2.1 and by 2000, it had slid to 1.8. By 2005, the homicide rate had risen to 2.0.
You lot really are paranoid about your government...i give up. It's a shame to say this, but while America exist, world peace is but a dream
You lot really are paranoid about your government...i give up.
Maybe it has something to do with being founded by revolution and all.
It's a shame to say this, but while America exist, world peace is but a dream
That's right, none of us want peace. CONSTANT WAR! MUAHAHAHAHA!
