I should not have gone to bed between Q2/3 and the race. My alarm didn't wake me up
This is why I stayed away from FP + my facebook and twitter all day :v:

If you're in America, NBC Sports had it on at like 1:30am.
So this season is the last one before they downgrade the cylinders in the engines once again. We're at naturally aspirated V8s right now, and have been for what; 5-6 years or something? Next year brings turbocharged V6s. I'm hoping it sounds just as awesome as the cars do now. Also hope it doesn't rape the HP.
The V12s sounded best though.
The Australian GP wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it still comes off as such a crappy track. No real elevation changes, and no unique corners. I was surprised there was some actual overtaking occurring without DRS or KERS. I mean, i my opinion the biggest reason those things were brought to the sport is because there are so many bad tracks. Tracks that don't make for good racing.
It's pretty pleasing to know that Circuit Of The Americas turned out so damn well. It has all the modern stuff that regulators have been imposing on virtually all new tracks, and proper elevation changes and unique corners that make for fantastic racing. I still recall the broadcast from November pretty well.
I'm hoping that one day they will host an endurance race there because I think it's a worthy track of doing so. Grand-AM raced at the track like 2 weeks ago, and those are somewhat lengthy races with huge fields of drivers and multiple classes of cars. If Grand-AM can race there without any shit happening, then I think they should host something. Would only sound good it you called it by it's abbreviated name (COTA) though.

In a private bar with some friends and guys from our village. But only if the race isnt too early (i live in Germany). And if someone dont take a short drink before the race starts, Vettel will loose.

IIRC the turbo engines will have ~750HP with a 150HP KERS unit which can be used to 33 seconds instead of the now 6.6
I think Massa done really well in this race, 4th is quite a good position for him, and if he didn't have that pitstop, I think he'd would of done a bit better.

Alien-like shifting! Also that didn't sound too bad.

What HP do the current 2013 cars have? I know like for example the 2010s pushed about 740HP, but I don't know if the HP has gone up since then.
i think like 800 but i dont remember exactly
[editline]18th March 2013[/editline]
this is the technical information of the BMW M12/13/1 turbo engine from the 80's, as seen in the arrows A10, my prediction is this engines will be worse than the V6 turbo's of next year despite the power difference, dont underestimate them, great things come from the small numbers

secretly Fernando was trying to drown Hamilton with champaign so they no longer had to be team mates
I have mixed feelings about the engine regulation changes, on one hand it will be nice to mix things up and have a new sound, but on the other it could take some of the soul out of the sport. I don't know, I don't think people throwing their arms up in dismay have really looked into the potential of the smaller turbocharged engines, like that posted.

Turbocharged engines have been in the sport before, and they were arguably some of the best years of all time. I, for one, am not worried.
So did teams jack up the HP on qualifying days to be more competitive? Do they still do this? And was it because the cars weren't held under the same regulations as race day?
they didnt really have engine restrictions and because they didnt need to run the engines for reliability, they cranked them up to increase performance. hockenheim was a classic for engine blowouts
Anybody else feel Kimi's 3 place penalty was unjustified?
Haha all 3 on the podium are fucking pissed, but Webber is completely fuming.
This only adds to my dislike of Vettel.
Shame that alonso was out, dammit.
I've attended funerals that were more happy than this podium. Seb is smug, Mark's about to kill Seb, and Lewis wishes Nico was standing where he was.
I only 'support' Vettel because I absolutely dislike Alonso (Ferrari) and Webber but I am feared that he will break Schumachers records...and this is such a shame because you can never compare Vettel to Schumacher, the whole field should have been in that time when Formula 1 was really intense and more awesome to watch, in the good 90's / 00's where you actually needed skill to drive. I still wish Räikkönen could do something this year. I still prefer Hülkenberg over Vettel a lot, also Rosberg and Sutil.
Even McLaren seems to have a lot trouble this year...hopefully Mercedes can do something...even if that was clearly absolute shit today...Rosberg should have just overtake Hamilton. Year after year this all seems to unfit more and more...too much silly rules after all, Formula 1 needs a big change in my eyes.
I laughed really hard during the pitstops of Force India.
I can't remember the last time when a team fucked pitstops up so badly, that both of their drivers ended up retiring because of it!
Looks like button's pitstop crew are wheely good at their job...

Unsure how I feel about vettels overtake, on one hand it was against his employers wishes and in the other hand I feel that they should be allowed to race.

Then race. Vettel waited until Webber dialed down his engine. How is that racing? Instead of stabbing him in the back, Vettel should have let Webber at least have a chance.

Also softer tires.

I agree, they were racing on the same grounds until the last pitstop according to newey
One of the most entertaining Grand Prix I have ever seen. It sucks that all that controversy had to happen at such a fucking hot race!
Still have snow on the ground here in New England, so it gave me something to hype up about for the coming months, but of course, there are things to bitch about for hot weather too.
But imgagine those people who have actually placed bets on this race...this is kind of a cheat for me, it really annoys me that there is no open race...well, when you're in race 17 and Massa will let Alonso pass vor championship...ok but not now...so actually Vettel-Webber-Rosberg would have been the end result.
Damon Hill once said: I'm going to put something to you here, and I think you'd better listen to this. If we race, if we two race, we could end up with nothing, so it's up to Eddie (Jordan). If we don't race each other, we've got an opportunity to get a first and second, it's your choice. And so should it be...your first opponent is your own teammate.
