Damn good montage. So the Chinese GP is coming up. Seems like a fairly decent track. Will we be seeing a good race or a boring one?
I'm not a fan of the circuit but it could be alright, was certainly exciting last year.
So Alonso was pretty damn brutal with his pace. Fantastic win for him. But Vettel, for the last 4 laps or so, was, as the commentators put it, in qualifying territory. Surprised he lost out on 3rd by like .002 secs. And of course, Kimi Raikonnen pulls another Finnish feat and goes the majority of the race with a damaged front nose (wasn't damaged quite enough to warrant a replacement, but certainly enough to make things questionable).
pirelli killing formula 1 since 2011 [editline]21st April 2013[/editline] also vettel wins lol
As I've said before: This sport would be a lot more interesting to watch without Vettel.
I bet people said the same about Senna and Schumacher since they were equally as dominate. Personally Vettel/Red Bull are not my #1 favs; Alonso/Ferrari are my favorite, but I still admire Vettel's driving. I guess Red Bull are seen as the team everyone loves to hate as they are top notch. Alonso did alright without having DRS available for 98% of the race. I think he is similar to Hamilton in that his skill outweighs the cars performance. Hamilton basically chose to join Mercedes to showcase his skills on inferior equipment, imo.
Alonso is a pathetic crybaby
Was a great race yesterday. I do agree that Vettel always winning is a bit of a bore, I sometimes wonder if he even feels any joy from winning races anymore [editline]22nd April 2013[/editline] Glad that Alonso isn't scoring any high points too, not a fan of him
There wasn't even that much coverage of Vettel for most of the race. They kept focusing on the rest of the grid since there was a lot of fights for positions. It was similar in China too; small snippits of Alonso in first, but mainly a focus on the rest of the grid. Though I wonder, is there one single live feed that everyone gets, and depending on where you live in the world, the commentary is what is different basically?
Yeah if I remember correctly the feed, timings, everything is exactly the same on every channel it's just the commentary that's different And yeah they generally don't show much of whoever's in front if they're ahead by a number of seconds
Amazing pace by both Alonso and Massa in the Spanish Gran Prix. Totally threw tire preservation out the window and just pushed the whole race. Sucks for Mercedes-Benz....started first row of the grid and neither finish in the top 5. We all knew Mercedes has inferior cars this year, but everyone is left scratching their head about how they dominated qualifying but fell short for the race. Pretty good race, but I CANNOT WAIT until the Monaco Gran Prix!
Yeah that was a good race, I'm hyped for Monaco, It's going to be crazy.
Yeah that was a good race, I'm hyped for Monaco, It's going to be crazy.
It will be utter lunacy in the case that Mercedes starts first and second again and still have awful race pace.
It's that time of year again, the Monaco GP. Race is already underway I assume, I haven't got Sky Sports F1 however so I'm watching it later on.
and people say monaco is boring
Rosberg is still in the lead, and I expect that nobody has to pit for tires anymore thanks to the red flag. Unless someone bowls himself or another driver into the barriers, I say we are going to see a massive 'Trulli-train' here. [editline]26th May 2013[/editline] Rosberg wins, while Grosjean and Perez resumed their usual wrecking ball behavior. Monaco isn't going to be boring as long Grosjean and Perez are on the grid.
Grosjean shouldn't even be allowed to race with the amount of accidents he causes. Anyone remember this? Sure he can keep up with the faster drivers but he just causes too much. I also think Max Chilton should have received more than just a drive through. I think they should change the rule about the tyres, I understand refuelling was removed because of safety but with the race has become more about protecting your tyres than actually race. "Slow down we need to make the tyres last the race" Fuck that, go out and race each other.
Copy and pasting this because it sums up how I feel: 1. (Drive of the Day, 1st) Nico Rosberg runs a very tactical race to win Monaco, finally, just like dear old dad, did. Great job. Great pace. Never looked in danger of losing. 2. Sebastian Vettel will be very happy with second. A just-in-time pit right at the yellow flag, and a quick blitz of a lap after the safety car mistakenly held him up got him past Lewis. Great job. 3. Mark Webber does what a good number two does. Follows finger-boy home. 4. Lewis Hamilton never had an answer for Nico. Looked like he'd try early on, but he didn't have the pace. He got screwed by the safety car, and his race never recovered after that. 5. (Drive of the Day, 3rd) Adrian Sutil had a bonkers race. I'd say drive of the day. A bunch of clean overtakes, fantastic pace. Granted, everyone who qualified ahead of him had issues, but he ran a flawless race. 6. Jenson Button. Whine whine whine. Perez Perez Perez... whoops... you need to pit, m'boy... sorry. Can't let you do that. Lucks into position more than anything else, after losing out early on. 7. Fernando Alonso had nothing but bad luck this weekend, some of it named Perez, but lucky for him, other people had worse luck... including Perez. 8. Jean Eric Vergne? Torro Rosso? Stranger things have happened. 9. Paul di Resta shows how good the Force India is, by bringing the second FI into the points from a qualifying disaster. 10. (Drive of the Day, 2nd) Kimi Raikkonen makes the most of a terrible situation. And that terrible situation was... you guessed it. Perez. Record for the most overtakes at the end of a race? Maybe. - Big losers: Pastor Maldonado: This time, it wasn't his fault. Still not a great weekend. Felipe Massa: Is making a career out of that single corner. Bad end to an otherwise good race. Romain Grosjean: Tailgating bad. Overtaking good. Less tailgating. More overtaking. Mmkay? Max Chilton: See those things on the side of your car? They're called mirrors And the biggest loser? Sergio Perez: Almost a heroic race. Tried the chicane trick one time too many. And oh, Jenson, can you move out of the way? I need to pit! No? Still sore about that move at the chicane? Awww.... Damn good race, but my mind is on this Pirelli testing with Mercedes issue. A lot is still unclear, but I'm not jumping to conclusions and saying the testing is what made their tire issues better and what gave Rosburg the win.
Fucking Perez man. Kimi did what he could, but that was fucked up. I wonder if the always cool Iceman stopped by McLarens to have a chat.

Them passes by massa on the very first corner. Jammy bastard man!
good race hamilton did well to get back up to 4th, webber would've had rosberg with one more lap easily, kimi should've boxed during that last safety car, and pirelli have some hard work to do
forum is up http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/23089321

I'm glad that cameraman is okay, that looked like a fucking savage hit.
Final race of the year, thought this could do with a bump. Everybody watching? It's not gonna be the same as last year since the title is already decided, but it should be interesting with Alonso third on the grid.
