Each of those artists you mentioned people liking are all great, I listen to A LOT of obscure music, both old and new and they're still some of my top favourites. I also happen to be 16, music isn't about sentimental value or nostalgia, it's about the message it carries or carried. The Beatles music isn't just music, it's part of history.

They're one of the most revolutionary bands in modern music, a lot of the basic things you hear in songs were invented/popularized by them.

- Fade-in
- Creative use of stereo
- Dressing up in animal costumes an singing about a walrus

Even if you hate them you can't say that they are overrated or bad.

Rock and Roll (see: Chuck Berry), Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Heavy metal, Power Metal, Early Country (fuck modern shit), 8-bit/chiptunes, Rockabilly, and I passively enjoy classic/electronic music (as in, I don't actively listen to it often but it's nice in video games and etc).
