what is that? a video game?
I thought the same thing, but then I realized he probably couldn't see the screen. He saw two people pounding away at the same keyboard and came to the only logical conclusion: they were playing a game. He then realizes they actually think they can accomplish something this way, and spends the rest of the scene standing there in shocked disbelief.
At our department, we once caught a criminal by getting his IP address with a Visual Basic Form.

Oh, wait. :saddowns:
all of these shows are. they're all about bullshit forensics and miracle evidence that doesn't exist irl.
in reality, the job is terrible. it's frustrating, takes absolutely fucking forever to get done, the teams are massive so things get misplaced and sent to the wrong people all the time, delays happen far too often, and the standards people have are way too high. fingerprints and other such trace evidence often mean jack shit, too.
the reason there are so many cop/crime investigation/forensics labguy shows are for two reasons:
1) to get people interested in the job by misleading information/misinformation altogether because nobody does this boring shit for a very long time and it's very stressful, hard work
2) to scare potential criminals out of breaking the law for the fear they might be tracked down no matter how careful they were to leave behind no evidence that it was them
the only reason one might consider this occupation is because they have no life or social skills and need cash. it's good for people who are big on brains and don't have any sentimental value in other people because it's a job you typically do alone, not with some sexy chick whose figure is about as well taken care of as her brain is, lol, if you ARE doing partner work (which you wont be happy with anyway, ill explain:) you'll do it with some uninteresting, ugly egghead 90% of the time or more.
also the kind of preparation it takes to be one of these forensic scientists is fuck as well. years of training and your benefits are doodoo. the pay is hardly worth it
Yeah but NCIS has fun as hell characters.

My parents are litterally that stupid to buy that, I try to tell them, I try to reason, but No. they just keep using their shitty "best protection evarrr" while they get viruses out the ass and complain to me when their laptop crashes.
I lost it when they both started smashing randomly at the keyboard
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason I stopped watching this show.

If my computer ever gets hacked I'm letting those two people fix it.
That's what you get for using Remote Assistance
I love how these shows just don't give a shit about being correct about anything.
