JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg are great but Cloverfield was also fairly similar in terms of story, style and hype-methods and that didn't live up to the hype so it's a touch choice.

The worst thing that could happen that the bearded robot is Unicron and he is voiced by Justin Beiber or worse, Rebecca Black...... People just grew more accustomed to the style of the movie, if you ask me. I actually liked the second movie's plotline.
