Been "Slice" on everything but Facepunch for as long as I remember really..
It's funny becuase sometimes my friends call me Slice IRL, it's like a second first name. :v:
I started using ForestRaptor everywhere after I made a Steam account few years back. My other nick is my YouTube accounts name, FinCombine, because ForestRaptor was taken by some french dork in YouTube.
I we had mine since I have known myself.
But I change avatar because no-one fits
I've been Murkrow since I was 12 and I've had a worms avatar since I was 13.
By the way, Murkrow is a Pokemon species.
And even though it seems pretty childish after 7 years, I still keep it because everyone who knows me on the internet knows me by my avatar and pseudonym.
Hi Murkrow :D
I like the name colon_expander
I invented one back at 11 or so, and I've used it since for most things. I got another one recently that I use much more, or another two. I have no idea why I used this godawful name for Facepunch, wish I could change. I seem to remember this maybe just being made so I could search and then I just started posting. Meh. CAN we change our names?
My original nickname is "ViralHatred" I've had it since 2002.
If you do "ViralHatred" in google you get 'about 14,800 results'
I wouldn't change my username ever simply because as I get older and mature into a better user, people can see my past and see how much I've changed.

Mine has 29.000 results for Xmeagol
I've used this nick since before I got Steam in 2004.
2 letters from being Muslim even.

And the only results I get when googling is either a shitload of my own stuff, or misspell.
[editline]Hurr, a week later[/editline]
Actually you just have to switch the U and the I
Yus, two letters.
I was ChaosUnleash for years, then I changed it to just my first name, cause I was fed up of people calling me Chaos over mic.
I usually go by Action Snail or Automata.
AutomataReturns was an inside joke with my friends after I would die in CS. I would come back and shout: "Automata Returns!" and slaughter them.
I have exactly 924 results on Google for my original name. They all seem to be my profiles and posts for stuff or some jerkoff who plays Guild Wars as an elf a lot.

Linkage since the end of the 90's.
I've been using luaduck since 08 (?) when I started coding lua (and the hail of shit that baught). I've thought about changing it multiple times, but the amount of hassle it takes to do it (rebrand, get the word out etc) always outweighs it. I get along with the occasional logo / theme rebrand.
Before that, I used the generic-as-fuck Duck3ator
Been Lazore since 2000 :v:
Mine has evolved slowly over the years from Zed, to Zeddy, to Zedacon, to Doctor Zedacon. It seriously took years for me to want to change it at each iteration. Always got Zed in there though.

It bothers me seeing people who change their Steam name every hour to something different.
I used to be bizz 222 on runescape, but someone hacked my account so I made a new one called kingy who, when my friend wanted me to join the kingy 'clan', being a big fan of doctor who is where the who bit comes from. It was around series 1 when that happened so It's 5-6 years old.
My brother's friend used to play on my Xbox when I was like a little kid and his gamertag was "Lord Infamous". I somehow pulled Lorden out of that. :saddowns:
I've only been Pandemix for a little while now. I think I invented it when the orange box was released.
I have 3 nicknames, all of them are 5 or more years old.
I got my name from when I needed to make a account for runescape and I didn't know how to spell.
I used to be Fatboyfat, but seeing as im no longer fat and the slight feelings of awkwardness when a friend asks your ps3 name i felt it was time to change...plus getting the odd aggrieved 12 year old taunting you online about being a 'fatty fat fat' got tiresome.
I've been using this name for a decade now, back in '99 or '00 I was playing Diablo online back when it was still really populated and I thought to myself "I need to stop using crappy names and come up with a good one." So I took my name and added 2468 onto the end, I thought it looked a lot better than most of those names with numbers in them. It's just stuck with me ever since.
I do use a few other ones on other websites sometimes though, but I only started doing that recently.
I've been EvilShadow777 since I joined the internet when I was like 12. I've been used to the name, and the only alternate I use is "Jammieboi".
After Somebody125 was perma'd I made all future accounts DOG-GY. FP is my most active site.
I think one of the first "tags" I had for myself that stuck around was when the first Halo game came out. I'd had screen names before for logging into things like email (or Neopets-- it was only 2001!), but none of them felt personal. With Halo came "Cypher," and I used that handle for a long time.
I have a variety of names over the internet, but mainly go by Redskins, or variation's like Redskins1234 etc.
Same reason as everybody else I guess. I do get recognized by that name, and feel as if it's my online identity.
I've had this name for the longest time. Though I do have another nickname I've used for a while. I use both for different communities.
-snip-
4 years ago I started using "TheWeirdOne" based on something similar to a friend yelling it at me during lunch. I found that a lot of sites already had that so I translated it to German and got "TheSeltsamOne"
