My genre? Experimental personal takes on genres with elements of other genres and styles thrown in. First up, Go Go Punk an electrohouse, daft-punk inspired piece with elements of dubstep running throughout, though not the prime feature. Osaka - Go Go Punk Second, Growler. Metal Dubstep with some insane BASS. Osaka - Growler Finally, Finest Hour. Winston Churchill Sample + Dubstep + Massive bass. Osaka - Finest Hour Give them a listen and I hope you enjoy. I'm kicking out a lot of new stuff these days.
fuck i hate fl slayer so much [editline]14th March 2011[/editline] and where's the InSaNe BaSS? seriously. my subwoofer was almost dead silent when i was listening to Growler (and how did that have anything to do with metal?)
Did you just put a lowpass filter on EVERYTHING? Don't do that, all tracks need treble.
nice songs, but terrible mastering and quality; however there is some real potential
You have a good idea of structure and composition. Though, they all sound way too midi for my taste.
The mastering.. oh god.
I come here for the music. No idea what mastering is, but this sounds great!
First song feels like it's missing something, put some Strings in there to fill those empty spaces. I like the melody in that particular one. 2nd song: Remake that using the 3xOscillator + effects. You could also make some wobble/growling by editing 3xOscillator presets, using the love philter or Editing the LFO's in Sytrus. To give you a good idea on how a good 3xOscillator bass should sound: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1068816-First-attempt-at-making-electro About the third song: dubstep without wobble/growling? I assume you just used the cerberaw saw there, don't do that. Again make some wobble with the 3xOscillator or Sytrus. here's a quick Dubstep song I threw together using Sytrus and 3xOsc:
Thanks for the superb feedback guys. I'm starting to implement some non out-of-the-box synth stuff as I develop my knowledge of DAWs. I guess I'd prefer feedback on my melodies and general track structure really as opposed to feedback on the synths I'm using, because I'm quite limited in that department until I learn how to use Synths better/buy an analogue modular synth bank. Here's a preview of some new stuff in the mean time. I love it.
Alright I started using 3x OSC and whipped this together:

I love it.
thanks mate, but did you listen to my other song too? as you can hear, my 3xOscillator "electro bass" as I like to call it, sounds much more intense than yours. To get that Effect you need to route your 3xOscillator to 4 Channels in the mixer like this: Effects used for SUB: Parametric EQ2 Effects used for HI: Effects for OUT: Parametric EQ2, Fruity Limiter Play around with the Effects and fine tune them to get the desired intensity. Although if you intend to use the Wave shaper (which I highly recommend) then it should look something like this: This basically splits the low and high frequency tones from the 3xOsc and routes them back to the Master Channel
You have some pretty good ideas, but the execution isn't quite up to par. Keep at it man! :buddy:
