What does Amorphis count as?
Doom metal I think. Though I remember mikey saying they played a lot of different styles.
Deathcore and Grindcore are worst than metalcore.
Deathcore is worse Grindcore owns both [editline]02:01PM[/editline]
Doom metal I think. Though I remember mikey saying they played a lot of different styles.
Albums 1, 2 and 4 albums are death/doom. 3 is like, melodeath/stoner, so I guess it counts as doom. Next two are prog rock/metal, then the latest 3 are like, melodeath, hard rock, prog metal, folk metal, some gothic in there GODDAMN EVERYTHING But mainly folk, melodeath and prog metal
Im one of those nu/alternative/heavy metal guys, you know like Korn, SOAD, Disturbed, Godsmack, etc.
:frog: Well there's proggy shit so other, Djent so other, Thrash, Death and I've started listenin to some doom, and stoner so other again.
What is Symphonic Metal?
Metal mixed with classical instruments (strings, brass, choirs and the like) and structure. Usually those duties are carried out by a keyboardist, but some (wealthy) bands actually hire full orchestras to do studio recordings. Examples: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score Dimmu Borgir - Progenies of the Great Apocalypse (technically symphonic black metal, but mostly symphonic) I voted power metal and black metal, but if it was available I would've put symphonic and folk also.
Rhapody of Fire had a 70 man orchestra in their latest two albums
I listen to the 4 last mentioned.
Rhapody of Fire had a 70 man orchestra in their latest two albums
And they sucked. Their first albums were awesome, but the more they started to add real orchestra parts, shit went downhill. Symphony II and Triumph Or Agony blow. Frozen Tears seems like a step back in the right direction.. but I don't think we'll ever see another Legendary Tales.
Cores.
-core However I fucking hate grindcore.
grindcore is the best core
grindcore is the best core
Fact.
Death, Thrash, Nu, Classic Heavy, Folk
I feel terrible for accidentally voting for nu metal :frog:
However I fucking hate grindcore.
me too [editline]09:48PM[/editline]
I feel terrible for accidentally voting for nu metal :frog:
I never listened to it but I know it's stuff like korn why does everyone hate it so much
I like Korn tbh
I never listened to it but I know it's stuff like korn why does everyone hate it so much
Go to a high school, find the douchiest looking douche you can. He listens to nu metal.
I don't :v: but fair enough, I know somebody who does I think people hate on it for the rap kinda style of lyrics If I want that kind of stuff I think I'll blast some RATM, something about Zack that just gets it so right. [editline]09:54PM[/editline] And the guy I know is kind of douche... with little friends but he's not a bad guy... He's just a little too high and mighty
progressive, some melodeath
me too [editline]09:48PM[/editline] I never listened to it but I know it's stuff like korn why does everyone hate it so much
Because Linkin Park (used to) and Limp Bizkit fall into the category. And the Slipknot, and we know how many haters of them there were/still are.
I see, makes sense
i hate korn because my old english teacher liked korn and she was a bitch
makes perfect sense I hate some of the friends my bands love because I said they were faggy at the beginning of the year. And they are
:v: also nu metal seems like more of an umbrella term than an actual genre I mean really Limp Bizkit, Korn and Slipknot, they don't really sound similar at all. It's just like a term for rock bands that draw more influence from metal, or in old Linkin park/Limp Bizkit's case, "alternative metal" drawing influence from rap and stuff Also old Linkin Park is p good sue me :v:
somebody told me that rage against the machine were nu metal I was all like :colbert: [editline]10:11PM[/editline] Also question for any stoners, when whacked and listening to music, do you see the music as some kind of waveform, like horizontally, the guitar is spikes of sound where the bass fits inside, and drum hits/sound are orbed shots of waveform. coz that's how I roll
Prog and Prog Death is where it's at.
RATM own What genre actually are they like rap metal
What genre actually are they
Funk Metal mostly.
I wouldn't even consider them metal BUT DAMN NIGGA GOT SOME FAT GROOVES But yeah really they can lay down some sweet grooves/beats I love their bassist's slaps so much
