I'm surprised this thread is so dead and more people aren't talking about this. It starts slow but definitely picks up. My expectations were high and I was getting worried but then it started to get really funny, meeting my expectations. Gob's first episode was definitely my favorite so far. It was hilarious.
The first few episodes were kinda slow in my opinion, but Lindsay's episode was excellent. She's always been my favorite for a reason. Everyone's saying that Gob's are the best, so I'm hyped.
Started off a little slow but holy fuck it gets amazing around EP5-6, then after you watch the entire season, go back to EP1-4 and it's just as good.
EP 10 spoiler - [sp]Holy hell, I nearly died when that Asian mafia member pulled the sharpened noodle shank on Lucille, and she quickly threw water on it to make the noodles go soft[/sp]
Speaking of episode 10, I'm pretty sure I saw someone who looks like Tyler (from OFWGKTA) in the scene with (minor spoiler) [sp]GEEEENE[/sp].
GOBs episode is excellent. [sp]Hello darkness my old friend[/sp]
Holy shit, on episode 13 now. [sp]This gets better and better the more things start to come together[/sp]
Oh man, I recently finished season 1-3, and heard a new season was coming. It's pretty great.
So I finished it. I really liked it, I was glad to see them all back together again (even if Portia deRossi and a couple of the other actors/actresses look uncomfortably different now, from plastic surgery and what not). The jokes were still pretty great, it took until after the 4th or 5th episode for things to pick up and get better, but then things got pretty damn funny. From that point on the episodes got increasingly better and more concrete. My complaint about the season though, along with a lot of other people from the looks of it, was the set up. I feel back in the old seasons it worked best when everyone was talking to each other and bouncing jokes off of each other with everyone around, it helped make things stick a lot more. However, in this new season, they essentially separated every character and had them do their own thing entirely now, so it lost a lot of appeal to me. So basically, it wasn't everything I was hoping it would be, but I still loved it regardless. I feel a lot of that had to do with the actor's and their conflicting schedules, they all have their own shows and things going on so I heard it was a bit difficult to get everyone together constantly.
I wonder what the logic was behind chopping the episodes up like this. Was it just because they knew we'd be watching them in a binge so they could do it.. or was it cheaper because they only have to pay the actors per episode or something? Also - what happened to Lindsay's face! Did she have work done or is the makeup just different? When she was in India at the start of her episode I thought it was a different person!
who knows but i really like how they edited/spaced it all out, it's done really well and add lots of extra depth.

They talked about it at that one hour long panel in 2011 i think http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/culture/2013/05/video-a-bluth-family-reunion.html you should be able to see the whole thing there. video isnt working for me for some reason [editline]27th May 2013[/editline] the only thing i'm not liking is how they hold on certain jokes for too long. in the original series they'd show a side gag for like 2 seconds and here they go for like 10. trying to hard to create "new" jokes instead of letting them naturally occur. other than that it has been pretty excellent. sometimes I get bored of watching just one character for a full 30+ minutes but i think it will be better on second viewing
Just looked Lindsay's actress up. Didn't know she was Australian. Didn't know she was a lesbian. Didn't know she was married to Ellen.
seriously she looks totally different with short hair i really dont know how to explain it. I really think it is either just odd makeup or a wig-related thing. it totally threw me off every time she was on screen until she had short hair at which point she just looked normal. i doubt it is plastic surgery. I don't know how they would get away with pointing out the supposed plastic surgery the character of lindsay had if her actor ACTUALLY had a substantial amount of surgery
It took me a second to get the joke when George Micheal mentioned [sp]his neighbors telling him about "putting it in the Bluth"[/sp]
Am I the only one who thinks Kristen Wiig did an excellent young Lucille?
Yeah! The other guy. Not so good.
Gene Parmesan's actor Martin Mull played Colonel Mustard in the 1985 film Clue. Parmesan and Mustard.

Loved the not so subtle Entourage references in Gob's episode.
[sp]daddy needs to get his rocks off[/sp] was the funniest moment for me
I think the profanity in this season was a bit overdone. It felt like every other sentence was censored.
Anus Tart
I wonder why fonzie was greenscreened into this scene
I dunno all the scenes shot in that location feel like they were filmed in 2006, so maybe they just wanted to change him to be in a sailors costume. Or I could just be wrong and michael cera is very good at playing an awkward teen.

When she was in India at the start of her episode I thought it was a different person!
I thought the same thing about Lindsey's face. Actually, during that first scene when she was in India, I thought they had hired someone to play that scene as a younger her, but they redubbed her voice over with the actresses. And the episodes are split up like this because the season was supposed to lead up into the movie. The idea they had was that this season would be the first act of the story, while the movie would be the second and third acts. It was probably intended to be this way because of everybody's insane work schedules, since it seems like just about everyone on the cast has other shows to attend to.
Currently on Maeby's episode and instantly recognised which scene the photo of her is from that Lindsay didn't pack. I think I've watched this too much. Oh god at the photo George-Michael uses for when Michael calls him [sp]I don't feel so good[/sp]
George-Michael's intro has [sp]wood block[/sp] This show is so good in every way
That part actually caught me off guard in a good way, hadn't really noticed individualized intros until that.
George-Michael's intro has [sp]wood block[/sp] This show is so good in every way
I think each intro has something different that's related to the character? I swear I hear Maebe, or someone, singing during her intro. Also, it took me 8 episodes in to notice it, but each episode's title cards are unique per character in their wording of the other characters.
