That's all good with me man, I didn't like hunter styles
Striker CB and Aerial LS were neat to me but overall same. They're a neat departure but i enioy the superskills more than i do the styles.
That's all good with me man, I didn't like hunter styles
I really disliked how busted some hunter arts made certain weapons. Like charge blade having a free reload that gave what was essentially attack up(m) for basically free.
New interview, being made by Japanese devs and they're claiming that the core gameplay (presumably before Generations) is intact and they are "not removing anything"
It looks like they're expanding on 4's mounting mechanic. What I saw here that wasn't in the trailer was the GS charge on the monster. I hope Capcom will take a note from Dragon's Dogma and allow use to Demon Dance while mounting. And I just noticed that the hunter picks up highlighted items and uses it as ammo for their crossbow. I honestly hope they create some interesting mechanics around it like grabbing actual Khezu whelps and shooting them into monsters to drain health.
Im kind of worried this is guna be a mess combat wise full of quick time events leading monsters through stuff I hope they haven't dumbed down the weapons too, looks like the gun has way more shots and you can move while shooting. Im probably going to get it though as it will probably be an awesome 4 player co op game, also finally get to do it outside of 240p and with wired internet connection instead of dodgy nintendo wireless.

And I think I've completely changed my tune, turns out my concerns (and some of the rumors) about the game weren't correct, honestly it's looking to be the best Monster Hunter yet.
Really wish I could see the HUD elements and sounds this game will have
Wonder when MH5 will actually drop, haven't had a main MH game in a while now.
Apparently this is the new main monster hunter.
Apparently this is the new main monster hunter.
I severely doubt that. Besides, isn't Cross/Generations the mainline game right now?
I severely doubt that. Besides, isn't Cross/Generations the mainline game right now?
considering they've stated that this is intended to be the next main mh game, you're wrong. also x and xx were spin-offs of mh4.
What does mainline even mean for a series like MH? As far as I can tell, there's no overarching story so mainline to me just means whatever the main MH team is focusing their efforts on.
What does mainline even mean for a series like MH? It also tends to mean new locations, new mechanics, new classes of monster, quality of life improvements, etc. Even if not by name, there's enough change that this could be considered a mainline game.
I severely doubt that. Besides, isn't Cross/Generations the mainline game right now?
It's already been confirmed to be a mainline game.

Damn, this will be interesting then!
Honestly, the more info that gets released about the game, the closer to a mainline MH game it actually seems like. I'd still very much like XX to get a Switch release in the west, but it's not THAT big a loss anymore.

Monster Hunter World DEFINITELY still looks and feels like Monster Hunter, now with more depth than ever.
ProJared's first impressions, he's a MASSIVE Monster Hunter fan, so I trust his opinion.
Everything he mentions sounds great.
I haven't played a Monster Hunter game since Freedom Unite. I stopped playing because I couldn't get used to only having one analog stick. I hear the new MH on the 3DS (and Wiiu if I'm right) are good, but I need to find a 3DS cheap.

I still kinda prefer a Monster Hunter on handheld, honestly. Don't get me wrong, this looks great, and I'm definitely going to be snagging it on PC when it comes out, but I feel like the Switch is just the better console to play these kinds of games.
handheld is holding MH back. the scope of the series has always been too huge for tiny handheld screens imo. giant monster battles and huge, sweeping vistas in every hunting ground, and you gotta squint through a tiny-ass screen to try and take it all in? I've always hated it

I really want Monster Hunter World to come soon, but I want to try the others before it comes.
Not talking about World on the Switch. I just think its a dumb decision by Capcom to not double-dip with a localized MHXX and MH World. [editline]15th June 2017[/editline] Also, did they confirm crossplay yet for World? I hope Sony isn't going to be a dick and stop inter-play between consoles again.

Not gonna lie, I'm gonna miss taking a new MH with me and fighting monsters on the go, I enjoy cracking open my 3DS and knocking out a fight when I've got time to spare.
When I think epic fights against giant monsters I know I want to experience that through a 800x240 screen.
I think 3U was basically the best way to do it. It was in both handheld and console and you could transfer the data between the two freely.
