There was a very heavy set black girl in my computer class (hurr this is how u use powerPOint and TYPE) who didn't do any of the work, and when she did it was terrible.
She probably had autism or aspergers.
Every day she would go to this black musician Chris Brown's website and play the music and we all shouted at her to stop it.
Lots of people listen to Chris Brown religiously. It doesn't mean they are autistic/aspergers. However, it does mean they have no taste.

every day, in class.
she would never stop talking about him.
he was the ONLY subject she would talk about.
the ONLY subject
nothing else
she left a wet spot on her seat one day after squirming while staring at a picture of him on google images
OP, you are NOT autistic, you're a socially retarded nerd. I went to school with a kid guaranteed to have Asperger's syndrome, a list of daily activities included:
- Obsessing completely over airplanes, you said anything to the kid and he'd somehow link it to airplanes.
- This kid would lean on people when he was talking to them, he had the most funking rank b-o and breath ever. He would LITERALLY BE LEANING ON YOU whilst talking to anyone.
- He got a little creepy with a teacher's daughter once; the daughter dropped off lunch to her mother (the teacher) one day. The kid decided to take a bathroom pass and follow her as she was walking to her car watching her from inside the school. The daughter had told the teacher about it and the teacher let the secret slip to a few kids in the class.
- He had no idea what social norms where whatsoever, he would run down hallways yelling randomly to a friend at the other end, all whilst knocking people over, shoving people out of his way, and 70% of the time would end up tripping himself.
- He would have a schedule of eating at least 6 snacks/meals throughout the school day.
- Other than the daughter-following incident, the kid showed absolutely no interest in women.
- He would just get up in the middle of class and start walking around while the teacher was talking, this usually was a precursor to his snacktime.
- During lunch, he would sit in his minivan and watch Disney movies on the TV.
- He'd bump into people with his minivan and just look at them then drive away.
That kid has asperger's, you do not OP.
That's not aspergers, that's full blown autism, do some research before you say something stupid next time.

Why does that have to be aspergers?
Why does that have to be aspergers?
i said autistic or aspergers, i'm not going to list the whole amount of issues she had as i'd be here typing all day.
sometimes I get the feeling aspergers isn't real because people who I'd consider to be less eccentric and more normal than me are diagnosed with it
I change my mind when I see an asperger kid at my school bumping dubstep and doing dance moves in the hallway

It's a real condition.
Chances are if they're less eccentric and more normal than you, you just have an undiagnosed issue that's worse than theirs.

No, that is why there are so many people who diagnose themselves, because someone tells them that they are likely to have it through anecdotal evidence.
No, that is why there are so many people who diagnose themselves, because someone tells them that they are likely to have it through anecdotal evidence.
Which is why you go get a doctor or a professional to do it if you have suspicions.
I don't advocate self-diagnosis because you're almost always wrong.
I'm just pointing out that just because someone is normal in the appearance of how they act doesn't mean they don't have an actual condition that may or may not actually interfere with their lives.

The aspergers guy I mentioned is pretty much completely normal except he can't read emotional queues or sarcasm.

Low strength Asperger's is nothing more than social retardation, medical companies get more and more money off of the socially retarded kids going on medication and therapists/counseling for "asperger's" so obviously it is one of the most over diagnosed ailments in the history of man. Parents love asperger's syndrome too, it is something that gives them a feeling of security to "know" that it isn't their fault that their kid is socially inept because they were raised incorrectly. In reality, the kids diagnosed go along with it as well; it makes them feel good for being socially retarded but the blame isn't put on them for being lazy and cowardly, it gets put on Asperger's.
I wonder how much money Phizer makes off of just Facepunch.
I'm not only saying that OP isn't autistic, I'm also saying that 98% of cases with Asperger's syndrome revolve around levels 1-5, which are complete fucking bullshit. I took IB Psych and IP Sociology in high school and read through the DSM-IV and it isn't difficult whatsoever to see the huge fucking medical scam here.

So that would mean that all people "diagnosed" with Aspergers just use it as a ruse to get money.
:downs:
Fuck off, seriously. You don't know what you're talking about.

My friend who has Aspergers writes tiny, and so do I.
Anyone else with this?
Artemis is butthurt, boo hoo

I'm an Aspie, and my handwriting takes up the majority of the space on notebook paper. I've gotten lots of compliments from teachers for my nice penmanship though, so I guess it evens out.
I took IB Psych and IP Sociology in high school and read through the DSM-IV and it isn't difficult whatsoever to see the huge fucking medical scam here.
...and we care....because?

That's like going up to someone who has OCD and telling them, "Hey Howard Hughes kept jars of his own piss. You don't have OCD if you don't keep jars of your own piss."
For christ's sake people, OP already said that it doesn't affect his daily life, that is one of the fucking BASE FACTORS for any mental illness. You kids should pick up a copy of DSM-IV and read through it.
Artemis and his book are stepping in for psychologists who devote their careers to researching this stuff and have degrees.
Artemis and his book are stepping in for psychologists who devote their careers to researching this stuff and have degrees.
Do you even fucking know what the DSM-IV is?
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is published by the American Psychiatric Association and provides a common language and standard criteria for the classification of mental disorders. It is used in the United States of America and in varying degrees around the world, by clinicians, researchers, psychiatric drug regulation agencies, health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and policy makers.
Wow, OP I think it's really cool that you can answer all those questions. This may sound harsh but I am happy that I am not the only one who has something like this. I thought I was always the weirdo because no one ever said he or she has it. You're cool.
I have something similar :(
itt artemis takes a high school class and thinks that gives him more authority than hundreds of psychologists
so you think most AS diagnoses are false?
prove it. i'll then take it to an expert, and see what HE thinks - somehow, i reckon he'll be a tad more reliable than an armchair psychologist
Do you even fucking know what the DSM-IV is?
According to your quote, it "provides a common language and standard criteria fro the classification of mental disorders."
It doesn't seem to back up your opinion that "98% of cases with Asperger's syndrome revolve around levels 1-5, which are complete fucking bullshit"
People who use meds for aspergers are living life in easy mode
All I can think of is Doctors cashing in on drug sale, you can't medicate a personality
but you can meditate certain symptoms of AS, e.g. depression and OCDs
Can a symptom of a mental illness be another mental illness?
Can a symptom of a mental illness be another mental illness?
AFAIK yes.
For christ's sake people, OP already said that it doesn't affect his daily life, that is one of the fucking BASE FACTORS for any mental illness. You kids should pick up a copy of DSM-IV and read through it.
Mental illness doesn't have to destroy your daily life by making you a gibbering retard you retard. As the effects of any mental illness can vary from person to person some people might not suffer from it in such a way that they need assistance with everything. Aspergers is a good example of this, I can live my day to day life, but there are times when the effects do catch you, usually the social situations the disease is meant to affect. But as it isn't severe it isn't making me roll around on the floor screaming every time a person speaks near me.
Pull your head out of your ass. All you seem to do on this forum is elitist-post (new term especially for you).

He wasn't saying that it has to make you a massive retard who can't talk to anyone, that's very extreme. He was saying that mental illnesses, by definition, affect your daily life. The OP said that it doesn't affect his daily life and so I think Artemis is saying he doesn't have a mental illness.

Yeap, hexpunk is 14 and apparently doesn't know anything about the classification of mental illness. YOUR DAILY LIFE HAS TO BE DISRUPTED IN ORDER TO BE DIAGNOSED WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS.

No it doesn't, there are plenty of mental illnesses that don't disrupt daily life.

Its a spectrum, you are an idiot.

FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME, IN ORDER TO HAVE A MENTAL FUCKING ILLNESS IT HAS TO BE DISRUPTING YOUR FUCKING DAILY LIFE! Otherwise it simply IS NOT A FUCKING MENTAL ILLNESS you daft weaboo. You guys keep going and throwing more and more money at pharmaceutical companies, I'll be having fun with my non-autistic life eating candy corn and masturbating out of windows.
If nothing is disrupting your daily life then nothing is fucking wrong with you, it is that goddamn simple.
