Why do you love to tell people you have assbugers (I cannot spell it properly) (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Autumn))
Sorry to hear you have aspergers. Do you ever freak the fuck out in public?
Do you ever freak the fuck out in public?
I don't freak the fuck out and start punching people, but I have been known to start having mild panic attacks if things start getting badly out of control.
Why do you love to tell people you have assbugers (I cannot spell it properly)
Because some people [like you] are stone-hearted and tend to block the information from yourselves, to make sure that you aren't labled as a "do-gooder" or a "person who cares" [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
Sorry to hear you have aspergers. Gonna state something if it wasnt obvious by the minecraft question answer: Aspergers is a type of autism, One that I have too. V:v:V
How's special ed?
How's special ed?
If by special ed you mean advanced math courses, pretty well. Dual enrollment in high school/college was a bitch
How's special ed?
What special ed? Oh! You were trying to crack a funny! Well it didn't work.
There should be a Facepuncher with Aspergers for a musical instrument. They'd be like a fucking virtuoso.
At the risk of being late I'm gonna post it anyways, Why would Facepunch need to ask questions about a condition everyone here already has? On a serious note do you have high pain tolerance?
On a serious note how do you have high pain tolerance?
I could say that, but I just don't make any noises.
My friend IRL has aspergers, and I know one or two others who are apparently diagnosed with it. But, to be honest, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with any of them. My friend does visibly struggle to get along socially but he's had more girlfriends than I have (foreveralone.jpg). He's also not that great academically whatsoever. The other guys I know who apparently have aspergers show no sign of being socially challenged whatsoever. I actually once read this article about how aspergers is very much a more subjective diagnosis as there is no completely agreed specific symptoms for it, and its arguable that its not actually a condition at all. The article further went on to give the heart-crushing tale of a woman who so desperately wanted her child to be different that she practically forced the psychiatrist to diagnose her son with aspergers when he was perfectly normal. The sickening part was that she could do that legally.
Are you hungry in the mornings? Sorry if that's weird. I'm trying to confirm a study I heard about cortisol levels in people with Aspergers.
Are you hungry in the mornings? Sorry if that's weird. I'm trying to confirm a study I heard about cortisol levels in people with Aspergers.
I try to eat as litle wheat gluten as possible, but yes, I'm usually hungry in the mornings.
Most people are hungry in the morning, from what I've been able to gather. OT: When/if you get a panic attack, do people ever notice it or do you manage to keep your cool on the outside?
can you "switch it on and off" like to focus on work instead of getting distracted by friends
can you "switch it on and off" like to focus on work instead of getting distracted by friends
I can, but it's difficult, because I hate to feel like I'm shutting out others. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
Most people are hungry in the morning, from what I've been able to gather. Hit me with your best dinosaur fact! And what's your favorite song?
Zillamaster, you are awesome. :brofist:
Hit me with your best dinosaur fact! And what's your favorite song?
54% of all fossils found in the average North American dinosaur digs are Coprolites. So it's true that you find jack shit when digging for dinosaurs. Favorite Song? Hmmm, tough one. I'd have to say Godzilla's March by Akira Ifikube. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline] Coprolite = Fossilized Doodie
Are you hungry in the mornings? Sorry if that's weird. I'm trying to confirm a study I heard about cortisol levels in people with Aspergers.
Back in highschool, I never ate breakfast, and almost never ate lunch. College life was much the same. In my experience, if I ate after I woke up, I had to stand over a toilet in case I threw up, but that might just be a behavior I got into.
are there really pills available? what is it? by the way, I would like to help answering questions in this thread.
Risperidone and Straterra. They were originally made for keeping ADD/ADHD symptoms down, and can also help some basic symptoms of Aspergers too. I don't know if they're avalable in the Netherlands, but it wouldn't hurt to discuss it with your psychiatrist.
Since I also have aspergers, I'll provide you fine gentlemen with another person's response to the OP's common questions :zoid: Q: Is it hard to interact with others? A: It is if I've never seen or heard them before. Q: Can medications help control it? A: I've never taken any medicine for it so I'm not sure. Q: It says that Asperger Syndrome sufferers can be extremely interested in a single subject. What's yours? A: Video games and School. Q: Is minecraft your favorite game? A: I hate Minecraft and Terraria. I am probably greatly younger than the OP so this might be interesting to some people. :P
I have it too... do you by chance have chronic insomnia? What about terrible handwriting? I have both.
I have it too... do you by chance have chronic insomnia? What about terrible handwriting? I have both.
I actually have both of these. :L

Interesting... bad perception of body location in space? Like, it's awkward to walk because you can't always have a good sense of where your legs are? That's a less common one, from what I've heard.
Do you have a hard time when people communicate with you non-verbally? as in with facial expressions or body language.
Do you have a hard time when people communicate with you non-verbally? as in with facial expressions or body language.
I'm starting to learn how to read people, so no, not really.
