Interesting... bad perception of body location in space? Like, it's awkward to walk because you can't always have a good sense of where your legs are? That's a less common one, from what I've heard.
Quite the opposite for me, I basically learn my normal surroundings and navigate without having to look most of the time. I guess you can call it spatially minded?
Do you have a hard time when people communicate with you non-verbally? as in with facial expressions or body language.
I have to be looking for it to pick up on it, and it doesn't help that I rarely make eye contact with someone that isn't my family or dating me
I have been diagnosed with assburgers too. I used to be a bit smarter than other kids when I was aged around 5-8. Then other people have caught up. My mom always reminds me how a lady in the kindergarten said to her "how I seem to be annoyed by the stupidity of my pals" :v:
I have to be looking for it to pick up on it, and it doesn't help that I rarely make eye contact with someone that isn't my family or dating me
Are you sure that's not just social anxiety? to me it seems like quite a bit of difference between the two. I mean, it's quite a leap in being socially impaired in comparison to stressing out in social situations.
I've got it, but I wasn't diagnosed until I turned 15 (16 now), so I assume it isn't very noticeable. I'm a bit shy when talking to people I haven't met before, but I believe that is pretty normal. My anxiety is probably what made them figure out what I've got. My main interests revolve around entomology and myrmecology, these are outdoor hobbies so I don't normally have problems with going out. I also enjoy mapping for Source, and I like drawing (Although I'm a bit out of practice). As far as I'm concerned though, I'm just a shy person with focused interests- I never thought I've got any kind of social disorder. Most people are diagnosed when they're much younger. I know a few people who went to my school who have it, and you would never know unless they told you.

I'm just a terrible person when it comes to being social, and I try to pick up how people actually talk to others when I'm near. Oh yeah, emotions are complicated [editline]asd[/editline] But that just could be because I forget how I feel. Fuck all if I will ever remember what happens when I give a speech for class, in my mind the entire time from when I stand up to when I sit down is a blur
I have Aspergers, it sometimes is a bitch to interact with other people, but at least it makes me way interested in grammar and writing. Edit: I tend to get mocked. :smith:
Hi partner, another Asperger mate over here. Now question for you: How much creativity do you have?. I mean, do you have creative ideas without need of think about it?.
I do E.C.S, I just like making up story's out of my mind.
Hi partner, another Asperger mate over here. Now question for you: How much creativity do you have?. I mean, do you have creative ideas without need of think about it?.
I'm usually considered as a very creative person, I draw/paint a lot.
I'm not bad at making up science fiction elements for stories, but I'm crap at actually writing them. They always seem to look bad once I've written/typed them up.
=3 I think this is a great discussion, as I have somewhat of the syndrome. And before you guys ask, I'm 12, going into 8th grade. So I'm basically half a year behind on social skills, therefore I just give up and go with the flow.
I can also answer questions. I'm 16 years old with medically-diagnosed High-Functioning Aspergers Syndrome, as well as acute Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD). It can get pretty depressing at times. I don't take medication, but I have been offered sleeping tablets (which I've turned down on moral grounds, and will probably never take unless there is no other option)
Define "High-Functioning".
I have Aspergers, it sometimes is a bitch to interact with other people, but at least it makes me way interested in grammar and writing.
Since I also have aspergers, I'll provide you fine gentlemen with another person's response to the OP's common questions :zoid: Q: Is it hard to interact with others? A: It is if I've never seen or heard them before. Q: Can medications help control it? A: I've never taken any medicine for it so I'm not sure. Q: It says that Asperger Syndrome sufferers can be extremely interested in a single subject. What's yours? A: Video games and School. Q: Is minecraft your favorite game? A: I hate Minecraft and Terraria. I am probably greatly younger than the OP so this might be interesting to some people. :P

I hate Minecraft
What, how can you, when did it. RAHGASERADJOASDKJLAKSDÖL
I do E.C.S, I just like making up story's out of my mind.
Me too :D but I'm limited about how to express a story (writting is the only possible way for me at the moment)
I'm usually considered as a very creative person, I draw/paint a lot.
I'm jelly, I wish had proper drawing skills.
I'm not bad at making up science fiction elements for stories, but I'm crap at actually writing them. They always seem to look bad once I've written/typed them up.
For me, if a story sounds bad, I give it some time and then and discover how to make it look better. Worked for me most times.
I have it too... do you by chance have chronic insomnia? What about terrible handwriting? I have both.
Terrible handwriting is one of AsPergers syndrome?! Wow! Then one of my friends really has Aspergers...! Fucking terrific.
do your palms sweat when talking to girls?
do your palms sweat when talking to girls?
Joke failed, move along!
do your palms sweat when talking to girls?
Not really, to be truthful. I have some friends who are girls. Talking to them isn't any more difficult than talking to another person, but they encourage me to be less shy.
Most people are hungry in the morning, from what I've been able to gather.
Well, yeah. Unless your cortisol levels don't peak.
Do you have any problems falling asleep? Like do you think too much things when you go to sleep and you can't sleep?
Why are you using IE 6, is it connected to Aspergers?
A: World War II and Dinosaurs. Totally related.
Someone get this man dino D-day.
Why are you using IE 6, is it connected to Aspergers?
I'm really missing :colbert: right now.
You know, I read all of these and wonder if I have aspergers in some way or something. I mean, I have bad handwriting and do from time to time struggle in social situations, but not so much recently.
Define "High-Functioning".
It's not that hard to understand. It basically boils down to the person being "normal" for the most part, but with some clearly Autistic behaviours like fixations on subjects, lack of empathy, sympathy and other social aspects. Think of it like minor Autism. Pretty sure I was diagnosed with that when I was about 7, I have some evaluation papers lying in my room. I tried reading them but just can't make it through, reading about what I used to be actually upsets me, I've changed so much, repressed so many of the traits now that I am an entirely different person. One excerpt made me laugh, then . Apparently in infant school (6 - 11 years old I think), I punched a girl classmate during a creative sessions as the models she built from whatever it was "wasn't good enough". Man I feel like an asshole and honestly, do not remember a single part of that stage in my childhood.
How do i overcome my "not like being touched by people" perk? I don't like it :saddowns: I'll just have to start dealing with it now, since i'm getting a girlfriend. Yes, i have aspergers too.

Yes, i have aspergers too.
Tried forcing yourself into situations where you have to make physical contact? I found when I went to college I had to be a lot more social, leading to me being throw in the deep end. At first I couldn't talk to anyone, a few months later I had overcome the fear I get and was able to talk to a select few. I recently finished college a few weeks ago, and I was leading project groups, I was one of the strongest presenters in my course group and got on with basically everyone.
I've never really understood what people mean when they say "sufferers of Aspergers are in their own little world", what do they mean exactly?
Myself being an Aspergers, have you found any others of the same condition who turn out to be dicks or the opposite? I found another and he was a right wanker. :saddowns:
