Myself being an Aspergers, have you found any others of the same condition who turn out to be dicks or the opposite? I found another and he was a right wanker. :saddowns:
I don't see a Wanker in you, so that's your answer right there.
I've never really understood what people mean when they say "sufferers of Aspergers are in their own little world", what do they mean exactly?
They're idiots. Ignore them. We only seem to be in our own little world sometimes. I mean, when I was younger, I see that I was more active but alot more friendless (i.e. next to no friends :zoid: so I sorta looked like a retard to be honest. I was often referred to it D: Anyhow, unless the way they adapted to society fucked up and made them act like a child (not in a bad way, but just in general, the really small hyper stereotype child) then they can be seemed to apply to this. Uh can I ask if the people actually saying they have aspergers if you've actually been diognosed by a doctor or did you see some symptoms and think you have it?
Uh can I ask if the people actually saying they have aspergers if you've actually been diognosed by a doctor or did you see some symptoms and think you have it?
Diagnosed in Bury St Edmunds, papers are around here somewhere to prove that I think. Though I can see why you are calling people out, we have a lot of self diagnosed for any ailment on FP it seems :v:
Tried forcing yourself into situations where you have to make physical contact? I found when I went to college I had to be a lot more social, leading to me being throw in the deep end. At first I couldn't talk to anyone, a few months later I had overcome the fear I get and was able to talk to a select few. I recently finished college a few weeks ago, and I was leading project groups, I was one of the strongest presenters in my course group and got on with basically everyone.
People do "touch" me, and i'm just not comfortable with it, hasn't changed since i first started noticing it.
Yeah, I believe you. It's just that most people google something, read the symptoms then automatically believe they have a disease their whole life without actually going to a doctor.
I heard that you have trouble recognizing dealing with emotions, true?

I'm diagnosed as well. Also, don't fuck with us. We have mind powers.
How can you tell when someone else has Aspergers? I think one of my old friends used to have it way back when.
Uh can I ask if the people actually saying they have aspergers if you've actually been diognosed by a doctor or did you see some symptoms and think you have it?
Traveled to 3 cities to see 3 medics. All of them confirmed Aspergers in me.
I was diagnosed with mild Aspergers last year. It completely changed the way I thought about myself, and it bothered the living hell out of me. It wasn't until recently that I came to actually appreciate aspergers and the ways it made me an individual, from being able to teach myself piano, to the random fascination of how appliances work. I really don't mind the minor social disadvantage, and if a cure was somehow magically discovered, I would refuse it. Of course there's the immense anxiety, but it makes life interesting
Do you have a lot of friends? I'm friends with this one Aspergers guy and he ain't got a whole lot of friends
Do you have a lot of friends? I'm friends with this one Aspergers guy and he ain't got a whole lot of friends
People used to pick on me a lot, and I would always be the quiet one who minded his own business. Then I started talking more and taking interest, left school with good memories of the last few years, and a group of friends who I still go out with each weekend. It can be hard to make friends. I always found it difficult to know what to say, or how to fit in. It came naturally after a while of trying.
I heard that you have trouble recognizing dealing with emotions, true?
Yes, in some cases.
Do you have a lot of friends? I'm friends with this one Aspergers guy and he ain't got a whole lot of friends
I'm comfortable with the amount of friends and bandmates I have. Of course I got a lot of shit back in middle and elementary school for acting "Different", but people are becoming a little more understanding now. The only thing is I don't go out much. I'll be learning to drive soon, so that will probably change.
St Edmunds
Why do places have to have the same name, there's a school in kent, i think it is, with that name, got kicked out within 3 hours, never regretted it.
Is not understanding sarcasm a trait of having Aspergers?
Is not understanding sarcasm a trait of having Aspergers?
Not understanding sarcasm properly, humor properly, not being able to feel empathy for others properly are all traits. I also have a fair bit of trouble knowing how to react to quite a few emotions, which can be a nuisance when someone turns to you. I don't have issues with sarcasm for the most part thankfully.
Why are there so many people with aspergers on forums?
Is not understanding sarcasm a trait of having Aspergers?
As far as I've experienced, it's a sign of not having it :v: [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
Why are there so many people with aspergers on forums?
Because internet
Because internet
But it just seems like so many, is it because it's easier than talking in real life?
One would presume so, as text doesn't have a tone or underlying emotion, that and it's not actually talking.
One would presume so, as text doesn't have a tone or underlying emotion, that and it's not actually talking.
I thought so. What about when people have avatars with eyes in them. Is it hard to talk to them?
I wouldn't know, but it's just a picture so i guess not.
I wouldn't know, but it's just a picture so i guess not.
I'm having trouble speaking to you
so i guess people with aspergers do find it hard to "talk" to people with face avatars, or maybe it's a subjective thing.
so i guess people with aspergers do find it hard to "talk" to people with face avatars, or maybe it's a subjective thing.
I don't have aspergers
Then i'm sorry, i just presumed.
Then i'm sorry, i just presumed.
They always do
