Ah, I never said I was promoting a direct relationship between the two. Certainly there would not be a force doing such a thing, that would be illogical. But if you look just a wee bit beyond the literal meaning of what I wrote, you will understand my friend, kind sir.

Being religious would only help if you were going to be dating a religious girl.
In my opinion, if two people with different religious beliefs that they really care about come together, then there will only be problems in the future.
And if that's why she said she left you, there's probably something else that really irked her. Because that really sounds like an excuse.

Don't worry, I wasn't a dick. According to all her best friends, I'm the sweetest guys they've met, and they're actually disappointed in her.
And she told me it wasn't right any more, the thing that irked her was that I wasn't religious.

The "culprit" is actually Dopamine. Phenylethylamine is a neuromodulator and isn't really responsible for that effect. It's also not hardwired, it's psychological, as Dopamine is related to the reward-learning system. The brain simply learns that having sex with someone modulates dopamine and thus they'll want to do it again as a result.
