I've posted this before, but here's my old shitty P&S vs. a 400D
I reckon that they'd be far more similar if you got the same kind of lights driving through each, seeing that the first one is horribly dark just because of that.

I love these kind of shots; they're so cool.
I've been looking at this thread most days and liking what I've seen, so I thought I'd start posting again. Here's some stuff from my trip to Paris, all film scanned in. All the borders are the actual negative sprockets. All C&C welcome [img_thumb]http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4153/5196371854_db02a6c9bd_z.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5282/5227145452_b733c05d51_z.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5124/5229889820_9fb18106eb_z.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5049/5221190970_ecdd8ceec2_z.jpg[/img_thumb]
Thanks for the ratings guys, but does anyone have any C&C? MY Flickr is: www.flickr.com/ninjamoosetv if anyone cares. And there also looks to be a lot of lens flare. But otherwise it's a good shot. I love studio work. Fucking tongue, Noticed it afterwards.
At least you took the time to blur out the nametag, even though you could have just made the tag red. In my opinion, you should remove the text entirely, which will give you a chance to remove the tongue.
Is your social security number on your cat's collar? The contrast/saturation seems a little too high for my tastes. I like it though.
I just blurred out phone numbers, And I'm going to keep the tongue, It's turned into more of a joke photo now.
Hey guys I got this picture of mine featured in a well-known photography magazine! Pretty cool. I got the issue from my girlfriend as a present. I opened the first page and was shocked to find my picture there! I think I have posted it here before but still, that's pretty cool

Thanks!
Here's an awesome steadycam for all of you http://www.wimp.com/chickenhead/
Also, is one of those camera remote control things useful?
Also, is one of those camera remote control things useful?
Pretty useful if you're shooting on tripod and don't want any shake from pressing the shutter button. Really it's only for those times when the internal timer can't be used. [editline]6th December 2010[/editline] Or if one isn't present.
It would be very useful when using the BULB option right?

Every fucking time I try to do a shoot with someone, they always think "Nude Shoot". I don't know what possesses them to think that but whatever, one of my good friends wants to be a model so she'll be more than happy to pose for me, even if she is my ex girlfriend. :v:
Pretty useful if you're shooting on tripod and don't want any shake from pressing the shutter button. Really it's only for those times when the internal timer can't be used. [editline]6th December 2010[/editline] Or if one isn't present.
I tend to take a lot of landscapes with people in the foreground. Sometimes, I spend a lot of time, pressing the timer button and running into the photo - and repeating. Sometimes five or six times before I get the shot I like. A remote would really help me out in those situations. I don't know why I haven't invested in one before...
Hence my comment on using one when the timer isn't a viable option.
Damn, all I had today was my crappy phone.
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5004/5237428455_e0a81e591e_z.jpg
Wow that's pretty extreme. Fully natural light?
So if I am taking a picture of a person and behind them is the sun, how do I focus on the person so they are not underexposed? Everytime I take a picture like this the sky is what exposes while the person is not.

Oooohohoohoh on eBay there is a nice E420 Olympus, hardly used, 2x Zuico lenses 14-42mm and 40-150mm, all accessories, some filters and should come out ~£10 more or less than the single lens D40 would have cost me. I'm not going to be looking to upgrade lens wise in the future and these 2 lenses should keep me good :D The IQ of the E420 doesn't seem to be half bad too.
