i'm lacking enthusiasm to take pictures of any kind. i think i've asked this before, but any tips to spur creativity?
grab cam, walk around
ijyt. Sorry. I don't really know what I'm talking about any more. I'm going to put something out there and say the opposite of codenamecueball. latirCole, there are plenty of things you can do, but honestly, try leaving it for a week or so. Go out without your camera - until you're in a fantastic situation which has the potential for an incredible shot and you really wish you'd brought your camera with you. To the point where you regret not taking it out. That should spur you back into action.

You might get a good deal if you bid, but there a good selection
Holy shit, that 350d is within walking distance of my house.. you fucking psychic.
Latir, I feel you completely. I think time is the best cure for a lack of inspiration, sometimes it just needs to 'build up'. I actually cringed at the thought of my 365 today, time to put it on hold. [I don't care what people say about 365's, I've seen way more improvement in myself in 130 days than I have the past two years.]
Holy shit, that 350d is within walking distance of my house.. you fucking psychic.
try it out in person, maybe barter it down a bit
Wow that's pretty extreme. Fully natural light?
I listed it as how it was shot. I like how your watermark blends in with the shot.
Holy shit i just woke up in winter wonderland. For some reason I don't like winterphotos. They are usually just so white and boring. It takes more effort to make winterphotos interesting, atleast in my eyes.
I love it, especially when it's still snowy in the sky, everything gets a grayscale look.
The 35 is a nice lens. 50mm is fantastic, but quite limited with what you can shoot on it. Very good picture quality though. It's good practice though - having to move yourself around to get a good shot rather than just relying on the lens to do the work for you. [editline]4th December 2010[/editline] Here's a really old shot: [img_thumb]http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v234/138/106/635841726/n635841726_751715_7745.jpg[/img_thumb]
the 50mm is hands down the greatest camera lens ever. I've used it for everything, it's really helped me to learn more about my camera, everywhere I went (and I still do this) i'd take my camera with just the 50mm out. It's manual focus so I have to think about more about the picture. OK I had another attempt at HDR, I guess it makes sense to use it here as under the bridge was very dark and that lamp was very bright. And here's a non hdr river photo :D The river near my house has nearly fully frozen over.
SvendseN, what camera/lens?
OK I had another attempt at HDR, I guess it makes sense to use it here as under the bridge was very dark and that lamp was very bright. [img_thumb]http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b13/borisjake/hdrtestsmaller.png[/img_thumb]
The river and bridge are still underexposed. The point of HDR is to underexpose highlights, overexpose shadows, and a relatively even exposure to balance things out. You could even use it to fix that mess of different color temperatures you have going on. Really though HDR is a waste of time, especially for a beginner. You need to be focusing your efforts on learning how to expose properly for the situation yourself, rather than falling back on 'oh I'll just HDR it". Composition, framing, and learning to shoot toward your 'vision' are even more important.

Is this better. This was taken with the other two. ( this isn't HDR, I guess I will look for better opportunities to use HDR if I do.)
