Maybe to get things back on topic now...
C&C for the bird shots and the following?
Trying to be consistent with the subject matter.
I took all of these from the window of a car:

It's fun shooting from a moving vehicle.
Looking for ever changing shapes and contours in the landscape.
Why shooting in black and white is fun - you're looking for patterns and lines rather than the objects and their colour cast and how that adds to the photo.
Took these during a long walk in Blean woods (absolutely beautiful) nearby where I live:

Thanks guys!
Considering that you took those from a window of a car. Those are beautiful. I don't have much CC to give and DSC_0021 is very pretty, the shape of the tree flows with the clouds nicely. Great job! :buddy:
Holy shit those are nice Pickwickian-
All shot with your new D7000 I assume?

I also really like the shot with the traffic cones. Looks like some kind of band photo.

Pickwickian if you originally shot those in colour then you should try to process each channel (red, green, blue) individually while having it black and white, can lead to some awesome photos. for example you could drop out the blue and then there would be a shit load of contrast in the sky.
[editline]16th December 2010[/editline]
example of what I mean (done with levels and layer masking but it should give you an idea)

Dropping an entire channel cause a whole mess of problems. I would stick with levels.

Not to mention making the sky look black as ink isn't visually appealing. He could definitely darken it up, but it needs to be subtle.
yeah, I didn't mean remove the channel completely, just lower it. You can get an effect similar to that of a polarising filter without much work when converting colour images to greyscale.

I took the ones from the car in 2008 on my D80.
The last two are from around October this year, still on the D80.
I haven't used my new camera much yet - so much Uni work to do... But it's all over in a day, and I'll have the rest of the Christmas Holidays to have fun with it.
Wooooh!
[editline]16th December 2010[/editline]
Since it's a new page...
Here are some more I took in and around Melbourne:

Cold as fuck this morning, about 18 degrees. I went out in pants and a t shirt with a thin ass jacket. But god damn did I get some good shots. Should add some to this post in the next few minutes.

Good shots I think.
Accidentally turned over the can of pills :saddowns:
and the other two are the few of those which are scattered around my desk.
Having pneumonia is no fun.

Yeah I couldn't focus, only light I had was the very beginning of the sunrise :saddowns:
I'm just dumping images now...
I'm enjoying using Flickr for the first time.
These are from Melbourne and Canberra earlier on this year.
View from the flat. My feet and my girlfriend's hands.

Just a photo I took recently. ISO is high because it was handheld.
I had to crop it because the black part was taking up most of the frame.

That sky is beautiful.
I really don't mind landscapes being cropped.
In fact, I quite enjoy photographs which are cropped in a way so they don't comform to the standard 4:3 or 3:2 ratio.

I would like some cc on this, please(:

It's really beautiful.
Personally, I think the green in the background is a bit distracting.
Do you have any more, where the background is more of the leaf litter?
When you're photographing fungus, there are usually more of the same species dotted around the place. Just have a good look around and see which ones have the most potential for an artistic shot.

Holy shit, didn't even notice that! Now I'm more proud of this shot than ever!
Another one of my favourites.
I was driving to Moree with my grandparents and stopped over in a cafe by the road.
This man was sitting there drinking a coffee.
I asked if I could take his portrait and he agreed.

There's always something deeper about random portraits.
I love looking at the way the person is postured, also where and what they are looking at.
It tells a lot about the person, in just a quick picture.
I really love photographs of seniors, they just have that sort of "Figure Me Out" feel.
