You get the most out of your flashes if you can move them off the camera. I rarely use my 580 mounted to the hot-shoe of my camera unless I'm bouncing it off the ceiling.
I should probably start building a collection of strobes.

Yes, this is nice.

So, does anyone know where I can get lightroom? Or how much it costs.
I've been shooting on Jpegs for so long I can't explain and I hate it. I've been using Picasa (I know, I know) to edit my photographs.
It's just that editing RAW format takes so long - until someone showed me how lightroom works.
I really think that it's a step I need to take.
Also, have some Cape Otway trees.

It looks a lot better enlarged. I suggest opening it in full size.
the adobe website, $250. it is so straight forward to use, you will pick it up in no time!

I found a new lab that will develop colour negatives for free, let's see how the 3 rolls that I gave them turn out...

I love editing RAW photos in lightroom. It's extremely easy to use, edit, and manage your photos. It's definitely worth the change.
How long have you been doing photography for Pick?
[editline]30th December 2010[/editline]
Also I'm really excited about getting into photography. So much fun.

Or maybe enough funds for a D7000?
Or maybe enough funds for a D7000? :4chan:
well going from a D60 to a D3100 is hardly an upgrade
Or maybe enough funds for a D7000? :4chan:
true point! is the, like, £500 price difference worth it?
snipped
that would be warez
true point! is the, like, £500 price difference worth it?
Definitely. It's also got the built in autofocus motor so all AF lenses work and not just AF-S. Plus a host of other features.
How long have you been doing photography for Pick?
I got my first SLR handed down to me by my father when I was 14 - Olympus OM-10 with a manual adapter. That was almost 7 years ago, but I didn't seriously get into it until I was about 16.
So I guess around 5 years now.
I don't have much of my work uploaded to the internet (something I hope to change with my new Flickr account) - had a massive aversion to it for a long time.
Most of the stuff on there is a few years old - I've definitely improved since then.

This is lovely.
I took these yesterday and the day before.
All straight off the camera. Once again, I suggest opening them up and looking at them in a higher resolution.
Have a self portrait:

It's reasons like this that I need to start shooting in RAW format. I lose so much detail in the highlights, it's horrible.
But anyway, what do you guys think?

I'd stick with the D60, the D60 to D3100 isn't worth it.
