Yeah go for the D7000 if possible.
D7000 is the shit. Also, some content. Not truly artistic, but different from my usual "stick it in burst and hope for the best" Lumix G10 by codenamecueball, on Flickr Taken with a Canon EOS 1000D, EF-S 18-55mm IS, Shutter Priority, 1/60th, ƒ/5.6, ISO 400, 55mm on Wed 29 Dec at 14:26
Edinburgh peoples, I'm going up Arthurs Seat tomorrow to see if I can get any good pics, anyone wanna tag along?
Enjoy the drizzle and wetness everywhere. I'm sadly busy all day tomorrow.
Yeah go for the D7000 if possible.
If he's in a D3100 price-range, I'd go a little higher in terms of money and get a D90. The cost of the difference between the D7000 and D90 isn't worth it, unless for some reason you must have 1080p video. [editline]29th December 2010[/editline]
Ugh, £10 ticket from glasgow.
£2 if you get the right trains, I think there's some tomorrow.
Enjoy the drizzle and wetness everywhere. I'm sadly busy all day tomorrow.
Is it bad I like the look of fog?
Is it bad I like the look of fog?
Nope, I was out in the fog earlier today, but the problem is the constant drizzle of rain.
Nope, I was out in the fog earlier today, but the problem is the constant drizzle of rain.
Hm. On the way home from the Omni an hour ago it was a kind of light mist. [editline]29th December 2010[/editline] How old are you all by the way, just to see if it would be weird or not..
Some of the first pictures from my D3100. Did you by any chance get a new monitor?
Yup. Do they look different or did you just notice that half of my pictures on flickr are of my desk :o
Because there was a VGA cable on the floor in photo 3. What lens?

I live next to Holyrood Park, I'll pm you if I'm available, since it takes me almost literally stepping out my front door to get there :v:.

Ah, yeah that's actually my brother's room in the first 3 pics. He seems to have a lot of random shit on the floor. First three are with his Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.4 and the last one is the D3100 kit lens; 18-55mm AF-S VR f/3.5-5.6
Did you by any chance get a new monitor?
If you check the EXIF, it's the Nikon 18-55mm VR and... oh, answered.
I can't be fucked downloading files to check the EXIF.

thx babe
cc anybody?
well, it's not terribly aesthetically exciting nor does it tell a story so there's not much to say the only thing I can think of is that you need some negative space on the right of the frame, where the camera is pointed, since his pose draws my eyes out of the frame

Tried playing with light. It didn't turn out as well as I hoped.
That looks really nice, actually.
Well, my friend took this just before I took that picture on the page before Me taking a photo of someone taking a photo.jpg by codenamecueball, on Flickr
:S I prefer his photo, sorry.
:S I prefer his photo, sorry.
the photo of him? or the photo he took? because I prefer the photo he took
the photo of him? or the photo he took? because I prefer the photo he took
I can see why that was confusing. The photo he took.
I prefer the photo on the page before.
Cueball's is more visually pleasing, his friend's DoF is too deep.
