I don't know. I wish I brought a fast prime rather than a slow super-wide zoom.

Brian, how long have you been shooting?
Like others have said, all your stuff is amazing.
Yeah, you're the best in this whole thread, imo.
my favourite photographers on facepunch are pickwickian, b l u r, latirCole, and bopie. i love all the work you guys post.
i was going to rate agree, but then i saw myself [img]http://static.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img]
pick and blur are great, and I have to give extra mention to latircole as one of my inspirations, especially when I first came here. and of course Dai keeps me in check ;)
no love :(
i think that the best gear wanker award goes to evilking1

I dunno, codenamecueball could be a close second
What do you mean by best gear wanker?

I'd put codenamecueball first, since he doesn't really know what he's talking about when he does it. :v:
I'm flattered really. I love this thread, and it's predecessors! That is actually how i improved, so many people gave me advice and tips! Also, to be fair, the quality of work in this thread is actually amazing. I liked how these threads have progressed from just someone posting a photo and someone else giving criticism. Now it's more of an all around discussion when someone posts a photo. It's actually great! I don't even post that often these days and yet i check this thread every day :)
Also, H4Z3Y, you seem to be the newest member of this thread's micro-community and your photographs are already at high levels really, that shows you something about the progress in this thread.
Aaawww you guys
This is the friendliest place on facepunch.

seriously about a year and 6 months

Totally! There are no argument's, meme's, trolling, ranting. Just photographic discussion and happiness!

The exact moment that my friend was stung on the ass by a wasp.
He was climbing up a tree to pose for me and angered some wasps. Oops.
I love being outdoors.
you have given me an idea Pick! Now i just need to find me a model... I was about to say that there isn't anywhere nice that's forest / woodland near my house but the I remembered a place. nowhere near as pretty as the forest that you shoot in but it'll have to do.
I never 'do shoots'.
Just keep my camera on me at all times.
The pictures are a by-product of my lifestyle, not the other way around. They're just my friends who begrudgingly pose for me occasionally.
They'll thank me later though. I hope to print off a few books for my friends as gifts once I'm finished at Uni.

Just go exploring. Walk a different path home whenever you can.
I have a friend who's just started out taking photographs. I keep telling him that one of the most important things is to be inquisitive about your surroundings. I guarantee you'll have some fantastic locations around you if you look :)

I am different in this regard, I have to go out with the intention of taking pictures to manage to get anything.
I live here http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=39+Iveston+Rd,+Lynwood+Western+Australia+6147,+Australia&ll=-32.042696,115.925535&spn=0.00593,0.011362&t=h&z=17 if you can see anywhere interesting within a few kilometres I will be sure to check it out.
One local thing that I haven't done yet is go to the Highway to the west of my house and take some long exposure shots.
You live in Perth?
Nice, I've never been? What's it like there? I've always been told it's not very nice... But with both of my parents from NSW they would say that wouldn't they? Haha
Looking at the map there seems to be a creek running into the Swan river near you. Maybe that'd be cool.
Finally got an SLR, was half-assing it with an sx10 IS powershot before this

It's really chilled in Perth. ie not a toll road in sight! but it certainly is small. if you stand in the CBD and walk for 10 minutes in any direction you could find a street that was void of other people.

Nice. Could be a bit better if all the lamps fit in the shot though.

I thought about that but also wanted it to look a bit expansive. I see what you mean though, thanks.
