I hope i can get some shots of the firework, with my new 70-300mm. - Any tips?
experiment with fast and slow shutter speeds thats about it
If you want to make the trails of the fireworks complete, put it into bulb mode and shoot and hold the shutter open as it explodes and when the trails finish falling let go to close the shutter, no need to guess exposure times and a nice shot. use bulb mode and a sheet of black card, removing the card when there's a firework. you can "stack" fireworks by doing that.

WHY WONT BULB MODE WORK YOU COCK OF A CAMERA :psyduck:
Going to a new years party tonight, dunno whether or not to take my camera... I think I will take it, that will also give me an excuse to not get completely off my face drunk.
I'd put codenamecueball first, since he doesn't really know what he's talking about when he does it. :v:

I dunno, codenamecueball could be a close second
thanks guys
Just remembered that I left my tripod at my dads place. FUCK!
give me an excuse to not get completely off my face drunk.
what
what
I'm not good when I'm drunk. Let's leave it at that :v:
what
It's easy to keep drinking once you've started - and that's not a position you want to be in if you have an expensive piece of kit on you.
I would've finished my 365 today if i done it properly :sigh:

[editline]31st December 2010[/editline] Is this real or post processing?
That shot is exactly the way it was of the camera. Didn't even need to touch it up in Lightroom. [editline]31st December 2010[/editline] Also latir, don't beat yourself up over it. Just make sure to stick to your 52 project. :buddy:
What's a good colour theme for January?
White :v: Also two more shots. I really need to post more of my stuff. I suppose that's one of my New Year's resolutions.

Want to take pictures of fireworks but don't remember where I left my tripod. Wat do.
It's easy to keep drinking once you've started - and that's not a position you want to be in if you have an expensive piece of kit on you.
i was referring to the fact that he didnt want to drink for new years, not that he didnt want to drink with a camera
Want to take pictures of fireworks but don't remember where I left my tripod. Wat do.
Apparently ISO 6400 1/100 f/5.6 @ 200mm works pretty well with IS.
Well if you wanna use bulb mode and don't have a tripod then the only way is to improvise one ain't it. While I'm waiting for my own tripod to come in the mail, I'm using a tiny tripod with those bendy legs (similar to the small Joby Gorillapod), and I'm propping it on top of a fairly big thing that used to hold a big speaker in place. (My stepdad loves that hi-fi). All the shots are probably going to turn out blurry as hell, but whatever.
Hehe, I'm so giddy right now. Just took this shot.
