Also, I got a [b]very cheap[/b] analog camera, a Certo. I've never shot film so I'm thrilled!

You should make it a habit to check the exif. It's a great way to get answers to questions like that.

I've got the 50mm 1.4, excellent lens.
Kinda wish I had a full frame dSLR though, cause the amount you miss is quite substantial for the type of shots I want to get.
So I was supposed to buy a used D60 off a friend, but my dad offered to go in on a camera as part of a christmas present. I'm in the budget neighborhood of about $600.
I was thinking D3100. Any other suggestions?

There's too much at the top of the image. Since the wheelbarrow is a strong element in the picture, this should fill the most, or at least have a logic place in the picture.
You should also consider using a smaller aperture. Around f/11 to get the background sharper.

Yeah I only have a shitty scanner so the B&W ones look a bit fucked up with a blue-ish tone, but I don't think that's enough to ruin them completely. I think they are decent enough and I'll appreciate any criticism.
