I don't like the last one too much. I think the focus should've been on the racers.
Other way round for me. Focusing on the bikers is too obvious, if that makes sense.
Yeah it makes sense but either way I just don't think it should've been on the closest fence.

I like the first one though it is underexposed. I am guessing you used a tripod so if you are shooting in any mode that sets the exposure for you make the exposure bais +1 EV. If you don't know how to do this google it because I am unfamiliar with Canons.
The second one has a lot of negative space. I feel like it would be better if the tree was more to the left and it was taken at a shorter focal length. That is just me though. This one is underexposed too.
The third one looks nice but again it is under exposed. I would say it is pretty generic and bland but for someone just starting out it is really quite good.

La, la, la generic flower picture.
The colors may be a bit off because the flowers were so vibrant even to the naked eye, the colors were clipped when I took it off of the camera.

AHHH the white balance, it burns! Oh and if you think they are crap, don't post them.
If you want C&C here you are. Try setting the white balance warmer or just fix it later in Lightroom or Photoshop. Almost every one of those is underexposed. On the last on in particular (Though most of them have this problem) it isnit framed very well. Try not to cut off too much of the subject and if it is possible try not to have too much empty space. With the focus issue you pointed out I think that motion blur is more your problem. Yes, the focus is off in a few but you may want to invest in a tripod. You're pictures are pretty noisy so I'd have to guess you're iso is already pretty high. Without a tripod, you can't do much more than buy a faster lens or learn to hod you hand VERY steady.
I would say it is pretty generic and bland but for someone just starting out it is really quite good.
oh go please use whitebalance
I honestly, don't see whats wrong with the white-balance.
it's too blue
it's too blue
well were I live, and the way the weather was out today, there was a blue-hue outside.
Just trying to help out, the blue is a little overbearing.
As an example, you could adjust the white balance.

First shot is superb, but you should consider cropping the bottom off so it's just a solid sillhouette.
First shot is superb, but you should consider cropping the bottom off so it's just a solid sillhouette.
thank you!
nice thing about computers is i can have both cropped and un-cropped!
I also really like the second shot, but I think it should have had a bit stronger focus on the dog. It's kinda blurry right now. Obviously it seems like a spontaneous shot that came out that way (and would be impossible to plan and reproduce the shot). Just mentioning that. I really like the flow of the hills with the dog. I also think it could be cropped in just slightly on the dog. Right now he is kinda small, but just make it a tad bit larger.
this is my favorite Polaroid i took. i found out yesterday that the last pack of my Polaroid film is worth $80 because they don't make it anymore.
well were I live, and the way the weather was out today, there was a blue-hue outside.
Having a subtle blue hue to show the temperature of the setting is fine, but the blue in the photos seems to overtake most of the tones and it doesn't look too good.
What bopie posted is a good example of how to make it look right.
Blur haven't been here since he went to sleep outside the other night, have he? - Hope he survived the cold.
Did some Light painting yesterday, I stuck a crappy Blue LED on my cats collar and made him run around the room.

I don't know what he was doing here but it turned out well.
I only got 3 photo's because the Little LED Kept sliding to the front of the collar destroying the effect.
And full size images Media Tagged.

I went out and bought some new LED's today, High powered too, these will stick to his collar well, I'll try to get more tonight.
Move away from an empty, solid black background. You might as well have doodled this up in photoshop (your work shows technical skill and it's a great way to learn the camera, though). Add a subject, some content. Basically, take a picture and put some light painting 'over' it. You can get really creative if you don't rely on the light-paint itself to make the entire picture. Put differently, you should re-imagine the shot with light. The light painting shouldn't be your stereotypical someone spelling a word or neat glowing orb in the background. The light should be part of a subject.
