Well I set my nikon to raw + jpeg basic copy and took a random picture and then opened them both in the same program - and the jpeg was much lighter (but of course it was the lowest quality jpeg so it had less detail but the lighting was all I was looking into.) But the lighting stuff confuses me a little still. I get that you can pretty much put whatever lighting you want into it by making a hdr file from the raw image (maybe that's why it is darker as it only stores the exact data from the camera sensor so the lighting was true to real life? jpegs on my Nikon always make the world look brighter than what it is but I like the fact that this happens especially when it is dark.) I played about again today with another picture I shot but I am not overly keen on using raws. Maybe I am just not seeing the benefits clear enough. I prefer jpeg fine right now and then just use tone mapping and I actually liked the results more. Maybe I am just doing it wrong? I have been looking at a few sites but have been ill with a cold lately so makes me slower than usual.
With RAWs you can simply fix images that would have to be scrapped as JPEGs. It means that even if a photo looks over/under-exposed and shit, you can still salvage it with a RAW editor at home.
Yeah, the issue for me is getting it to how I want though, guess I just need to keep practising.
I don't think it's anything difficult, it's just a matter of getting the colours out that you want without making it look obviously edited. Knowing if something looks natural isn't too hard.
So by using an app to make my photos look even worse, can I justify using a cellphone camera to take photos and label them 'Hipster'? [editline]08:03PM[/editline] So analogue.

Not to mention this laptop is now around 3 years old and the processing takes forever also. I don't have a PC due to having a bad back I can't sit at desks. It also depends who you are, I personally find it hard to get a lighting I like that I also think looks natural I guess it just depends who you are.
[IMG_thumb]http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo146/GenKrash/DSC_0121.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
That looks so surreal.
This little baby grasshopper was just chilling on a flower in my garden, so I decided to take a picture of it
Why was my post up there deleted?
Daijitsu deleted his minecraft post, and to stop you guys that quoted him from looking insane, deleted those too.
yeah, just cleaned up the accidental post and the ones replying to it. I could have just re-edited posts or something, but by the time it was quoted I just didn't care. I can undelete if you want, but you just said "I think you posted that in the wrong thread".
Ughh, I wouldn't want to go near those grasshoppers. :ohdear:
Ughh, I wouldn't want to go near those grasshoppers. :ohdear:
I remember dissecting them in year 9. Some prick stabbed the thing with a scalpel and everyone at my table got covered in some disgusting brown goo. [editline]10:04PM[/editline]
Aww, he/she looks so happy. :buddy: Nice picture. As for dissection the only thing I had to dissect was a kidney.
I dissected my lunch, very little else back then.
We're the same age, you make it sound like you're 50 years old "in my day, all we got to dissect was rocks." :v:
I'm only 22, but I've strangely gotten into the habit of saying "When I was your age...", and that makes me sad. :frown:
Same here actually it didn't happen until I turned 22 earlier this year. When I was 21 I never use to say it. :ohdear:

I'm scared with people randomly accusing me - my name is Emma. :saddowns:
I'm just stopping by.
ah, well. Reminds me I have to bug her for a proper photoshoot. She has a really nice kimono she wants to show off :buddy:
cdlink made me (somehow through Steam) go outside a little while ago to check out the sky which resulted in me taking pictures.
I tried a HDR image of my kitchen but somehow I failed. It created chromatic-aberation like effects which I corrected with filters as much as possible. But I can't help the "misty" feel the picture has :(
[img_thumb]http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/6416/dsc0466bsm.jpg[/img_thumb]
Did you poke it?
I just made a thread for these ones, but I'll post them again anyway.
Such a pretty girl. Such weird piercings. [editline]11:53AM[/editline] Also the dress makes her look fat.
Really? Your standards are slightly disturbing then as she looks great.
Did you poke it?
Nah, I just said hello to the little fella. :buddy:
