god damn it canon [editline]8th January 2011[/editline] Don't google that lens because the exif is a lying bag of shit
Yeah the exif data is wrong. The connection between the lens and the camera is faulty. It's the tamron 10-24 and that particular shot was somewhere between 10-18mm. I won the Senior Photography Award for this shot last year, though I might share:
bit too blurry for my taste.
bit too blurry for my taste.
Yeah it was my first time shooting smoke. I was using MF because it was so dark and I couldn't really predict whether the smoke would come towards me or away from me. But out of all the shots I got, the shape of the smoke in this one was the coolest. [editline]8th January 2011[/editline] You might like these ones better.
what cameras is that compatible with? is it all types, hence 'adaptall'?
Yeah, the point of adaptall was apparently that if, say, you were a camera shop and sold that lens, you wouldn't have to stock multiple versions with different camera mounts, you just have one version that can accept adaptors for lots of different mounts. The lens is a manual lens from the '80s, but if you look on ebay you can get new, chinese-made adaptors for newer mounts, like an adaptall to EOS one. Mine came with an m42 adaptor as I've got an m42 to EOS adaptor already though.

I'm fascinated by architect and all your photos capture it amazingly.
If you shine a lamp on the smoke from the side it helps your camera to autofocus
With smoke, I'd say it's easier to have manual focus on, but have a small aperture so you've got a reasonably wide depth of field. Then again, I also used a flash with a wireless trigger when I was doing shots like that.
[img_thumb]http://i52.tinypic.com/f06a9y.jpg[/img_thumb]
I don't get it.

But I was happy with the results.
I don't get it.
It's a picture of a graphics card.
Today I'm going to be taking a picture of some "snow dunes" (snow drifts that look like sand dunes) and I'm wondering if there's anything specific that I should do or not do.

But I was happy with the results.
Hah, what I did was set up the camera on a tripod, close all the curtains so the room is pitch black, set exposure to 30 seconds and just press the test button on the flash trigger manually when the smoke looked cool.
What I did for these two shots (that I posted earlier in the thread): was set up a lamp facing the smoke, and have my younger brother move the stick of incense around with his fingers (so that it was always relatively the same distance from the camera). Then I'd focus on the smoke, and keep holding it there until I thought it looked nice and would shoot the shot. I had my flash bouncing off the ceiling. Midrange shutterspeed, and around 5.6 for aperture. ISO was probably 640 or 800. I'll check the data off the original later.

Also I just realized how stupid my earlier post was :/

CC would be much appreciated for anything I post. [editline]8th January 2011[/editline] and here's another Berries2 by Bohan Pang, on Flickr
I really like the second one.
I'd brighten the reds if I were you, they look sort of flat.
Not quite photography, but I recently decided on getting a Nikon D3100 (I know people hate the camera, but its not like I can do anything about it) Just took my first video with it. Used a 50mm f/1.8 prime with manual focus, thus the shakiness. I'll be posting some pictures in the future too :)
who would hate the camera, its real nice for the price
People were telling me to get a D40 or D60 over it due to ISO issues, etc. I just kind of went with my gut and I like it more than the D60. It was in my budget, so I figured I could just go for it.
For some reason there's something on that video that makes me like it way more than I think I should :crossarms:
Well do you like deadmau5? Because he made the music I used in the video. Except he used it for a video of his cat, so I figured it would be funny to use for a video of my dog. That is where the music came from

Meant to rate useful but I tapped it once to make the ratings appear and it chose what would have been there which is apparently funny (on iPhone). Great shots nonetheless, and what model flash do you have?
