Something older, don't think I posted it here though. The background is a little too distracting, imo.
Here's some more from the Weed Festival (Mardigrass - haha) in Nimbin. any ideas why there are white dots in the right of the second image? it looks like a scanning error, but these photos are digital :P
Dead pixels on my sensor :(
Dead pixels on my sensor :(
Are they dead or just hot pixels? (Do they have colour) If they're just hot pixels you can reduce them by keeping your camera cold while shooting. Of course, this is kinda hard to do when shooting outdoors during the day.
Thanks a lot for these tips. Accidental rating there :/. Meant to rate useful but I tapped it once to make the ratings appear and it chose what would have been there which is apparently funny (on iPhone). Great shots nonetheless, and what model flash do you have?
Nikon Sb-600. It took me a while to start using it and initially regretted my purchase, but now I can't live without it. I'd say it's definitely worth picking up.
Damn this first one is mental. Mad props.
Thanks, I got there too late to see the actual flames burst out the roof but atleast something happened in this little town for once.
Not quite photography, but I recently decided on getting a Nikon D3100 (I know people hate the camera, but its not like I can do anything about it) Just took my first video with it. Used a 50mm f/1.8 prime with manual focus, thus the shakiness. I'll be posting some pictures in the future too :)
What was the pricetag on that thing?

Just start it late like me since I'm floored with work these next two weeks.

They don't. Ask bopie for help with Canon flashes.
They don't. Ask bopie for help with Canon flashes.
Okay thanks. It would really be nice to get the 580EXII but that's way out of my price range. It seems kind of weird to just "call for bopie.". Lool. If you read this, bopie, what do you recommend downwards of the 580? If I were to get a flash my budget would probably be anything less than around 250-300.
430EX II is what you would be looking at http://www.canon.com.au/en-au/Pro-Photography/Speedlites/430EXII $280 from B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/571297-USA/Canon_2805B002_430EX_II_Speedlite_TTL.html
She's like 10 years old, mate.
so? the pic obviously isn't a candid, and scope wanted an opinion. it doesn't at all matter how old she is or that she's not a professional model. anyone in a posed pic is modeling. furthermore, 10 year olds are certainly capable of smiling if asked. instead the look I'm getting here is like "oh god when is my brother going to stop taking pictures and go away" I'm not saying that scope was being obnoxious, but that's the look that I get. and if your model really can't fake a smile, you can always tell a joke or something. my bad for being pragmatic everyone, please rate me more boxes [editline]10th January 2011[/editline]
I just finished up some super Macro Photography. [editline]10th January 2011[/editline] Well, the only problem with that is actually finding one. You could also go for the 430 or 430 II (I've got the II).

Losing your keys (car keys included) is a rather big inconvenience. Least I got my prime lens today.
What was the pricetag on that thing?
I got it for $636 (Including tax) at my local best buy (Couldn't find a better price online, plus it was nice to just pick it up) It came with a 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 but that isnt the lens I was using in this video.
