How do you like the Golf Mk4?
Also, I love the picture
Thanks haha. I love it, I have the 1.8 turbo. It's nothing too impressive, modest and clean cut with a little pep. Not to mention practical mileage. :v: Personally I think the mkII's are infinetly sexier, but I couldn't find any rabbit GTI's in my area. Plus it's good to have a more modern and reliable car as a daily.

My main criticisms are the vignette is a little strong, and frankly narrow-DOF-vintage-SLR shots are kinda run of the mill. Also framing is off a tad, the prism is too close to the top edge of the border.

a tripod, manual mode, remote shutter release, and photoshop or other image stacking program
those are for best results, though arguably some are optional

Exactly. Though I didn't use remote shutter. I used timed shutter (10sec). It was the dumbest thing ever. I crawled in and out under the bed everytime I shot a new exposure.
I REALLY NEED A REMOTE SHUTTER!
it can be done just with a remote flash and a cable release just as easily
I haven't gotten bashed yet, so i took a few more, btw thanks " ijyt "

Just buy a $10 IR remote and use that. Set it up so it has a timer still that way you can still get into position, but at least you won't have to keep rushing to get it right.
[editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
Also how did you get your arm coming from that area at the top of the shot. It looks like a window past it, did you hang outside of the window? Or just some clever photoshopping?

I have a little Opteka IR remote I got for 2 bucks off ebay, it works. You can set it to trigger your normal timer (at least on my D5000), so it can be 2 seconds so you can just hide the remote when doing family pictures, or 10 seconds so you can wriggle into position a bit better without running back and forth

How are you pulling off the orange in this shot?

That's what I do. I got my remote for 10 bucks off of Amazon. Just set the timer to 2 seconds for shooting (so as you said, you can hide the remote), or 5-10 for more movement.
The best bit though is how it allows you to lock into bulb mode with the remote itself. So press the button, grab a drink, and come back and press button again.
Ahh here are a couple of my favorites from when I visited an abandoned mental hospital in my city:

Fun Fact about mental hospitals in the 60's and 70's: If a patient wouldn't stop biting other patients, the doctors would resort to pulling out all their teeth.

my aunt had a golf. the computer was replaced 5 times, then one day it died. the mechanic had it for 6 weeks and could not find what was wrong with it. they sold it for $1600 to the mechanic as a challenge, and bought a Subaru.
