Pretty much everything else is awesome too.
non-functioning light meter.
I get the lens for my 67 tomorrow, and I didn't buy the metered prism for it, so it should be fun trying to use my 5Dii as a lightmeter :P
On another note, could any of you young ones inform me one how to do the new fangled Flickr embed thingo with a hotlink to the user and the photo underneath? I'd appreciate it :D
I figure it's easier to take a screenshot than try to explain. [img_thumb]http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/8030/flickrshare.jpg[/img_thumb]
had the flash on in the tunnel? tunnels are mad for photos cause you get to chose the light if you go upstream far enough
Haha, nah man. Just for the wall/text shot, all others were natural.
the rule of thirds is such horse shit
the rule of thirds is such horse shit
It's a good guide for beginners, but it seems most go overboard with it and now we see nearly no centered photos :(
rule of thirds can suck my pee pee I got 42 out of the top 500 interesting pictures that day. and its not even that remarkable of a shot.
So I want to get into photography, I'm going to use my moms' Panasonic DMC-FZ5 (no special equipment or anything, just the camera). Are there any comprehensive beginners guides that explain things like ISO and exposure and all that? I tried looking but the things I find aren't all that helpful, I would greatly appreciate help. (Not sure if this is the right thread, please don't hurt me Dai :ohdear:)
It's a good guide for beginners, but it seems most go overboard with it and now we see nearly no centered photos :(
it's a shitty guide for beginners, because it's a butchering of the golden ratio to begin with and then people hear it and then think they have to frame every photo on a gridline, it's so retarded I pulled all these pictures from rule of thirds tutorials on the internet, and every one of them suffers from being framed on a thirds grid: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/saanga/photospot/images/surfer_02.jpg http://www.photo96.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/crw_6397_rot.jpg http://enchantingkerala.org/digital-photography-school/photos/rule-of-thirds.jpg http://www.digital-photography-tips.net/images/rule-of-thirds-after.jpg of course that doesn't excuse fake pseudo-intellectual bullshit like dropping fibonacci on photos (in illogical places I might add) and acting like that's what made the composition good: http://jakegarn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/kaila355-300x200.jpg [editline]18th January 2011[/editline] tom_taker's picture seems to follow the golden ratio. it looked great to me, no need to fuck it up
Fuck I misread the title as "Creative Pornography".

(Not sure if this is the right thread, please don't hurt me Dai :ohdear:)
[del]There are 3 parts of the equation that is exposure. You have ISO, right? Thats the sensitivity to light. The higher that is, the more light affects the expousre. Shutter speed is how long the shutter is open (this is how much time light is hitting the part of the camera that ISO effects, the sensor.). Then you have aperture. Aperture is how big the opening is light, obciously the bigger, the more light you get, meaning you can have a faster shutter speed and lower ISO. You want a low ISO because at higher settings, its grainy and ugly and can fuck with your colors. You want a smaller (larger number) aperture because that makes the picture sharper. You want a fast shutter speed because you don't want a blurry picture. Let's say youre in a room at night with one lamp. You could shoot at ISO 100, but your picture will be really blurry. Why? because you needed a longer shutter speed to let enough light in to get enough brightness for the exposure. If you shot it at ISO 800, it would be slightly grainy but not as blurry, because you could turn up the shutter speed and close down the aperture. aperture isn't as important as shutter speed and ISO, IMO. especially when you want a blurred out background. [/del] Fuck it, im too durnk to go on, here a link.

I had warned at the beginning of the thread to start banning for the creative pornography joke because people kept bringing it up every other page. Also, my work with the breakdancers is paying off, they're buying me a D7000 soon.
Sorry, didn't know. We cool?

Just a quick pose, a few seconds here and there before we're all on our way. God I love walking.

The light in my garden was reflecting off the peach tree leaves in an absolutely stunning fashion this evening, I couldn't resist. Grabbed myself a Tamron 70-300 from Jessops on Sunday (they're on sale for £99, go go go), the quality is outstanding considering this was my 5th shot: [img_thumb]http://f.anyhub.net/1vRV[/img_thumb] There's no stabilisation, but for the price it's a fantastic lens.

Those are great. I really like the feel of the last one though, the quality is fantastic.
