also, i made a flickr account a few days ago so everyone add me. :madmax:
Link to your account? Or did I miss it?
edit: ah you added it as your website on your profile. Will add you. :buddy:

I love your rabbit by the way. Do want.
Capturing him/her mid motion looks brilliant. Don't forget to join the Facepunch group.
By the way Facepunch I need help with taking pictures of my degus who constantly move about. They usually only stay still for half a second resulting in a lot of blurry pictures before a still one. The focus time, even though probably not even half a second, is too slow. Any advice on settings and lenses? I have a Nikon D3000.
Yeah that rabbit is awesome love the "Incoming" one.
I really want to start taking more photos. last time i went out for the purpose of taking photos was nearly 8 months ago.
since i just started my holidays, I might head up to the mountains one of these days to take some photos.
Absolutely lovely sky.
I wish that closest black pole(?) was in focus though.
Yeah, I wish it was as well, but unfortunately I had to use a wide aperture as it was getting pretty dark and the scaffolding I was standing on is too wobbly even if you use a tripod.

Also a photo of my friend from our recent trip to Ireland:

And, uhh, a nice array of lights

You could always remove it if you have those new Photoshop's that have the content awareness? I only have CS2, which I like due to Image Ready (didn't it get removed later on in newer versions?)
Sadly I've only got CS2 as well, though I might try doing it by hand when I get my mouse back!
That sounds ambitious. To me anyway as I am not too skilled at retouching at all. Good luck. :buddy:
Ugh my internet has been terrible the last few days (and as a consequence I haven't been able to post in here). It's a shame too, I've been wanting to comment on so much stuff that I've missed out. Oh well.

Oh my. :ohdear:
I saw a rainbow on the carpet earlier.

Not meant to be anything amazing. Just showing the pretty rainbow. :buddy:
Success, I have acquired a diffuser umbrella plus appropriate clamp! Should be fun to mess about with =D
I'm taking phtos of a public viewing football party later today. Any tips? I always feel weird taking pics of people...
I've been photographing for maybe a year now, and I'd like to know what to improve in my photos aswell as some C&C. My gallery: http://cussypat.deviantart.com/gallery/
Feedback of any sort would be appreciated.

Took this picture with my phone, and it looked sexy, so I edited it and uploaded it.

I really like these ones. Especially the last one.
The others are okay. Try to think more about composing your shot, and making them not look so cluttered.
What camera were you using before the nikon?

C&C appreciated.
I'm very new.
Also, is there a way to make RAWs viewable on my computer without using a dumb image converter >:(.
Maybe the CD that came with my EOS XS?
(I know how dumb that sounds, but I don't have the CD on me.)
You can view RAWs with Picasa. Most of the time I personally just use JPEG fine unless it is landscape stuff then I take 2 copies one a RAW and one the JPEG fine again. Guess it depends on your preference though.
As for the picture itself, it's all right. Not much to say on it because it's a pair of shoes. Go out for a walk sometime and get a bit snap happy. :buddy:

part of a set I did with Alex. This one was set up for a facebook profile pic, so don't mind the lack of composition. I'm setting up proper edits for everything. :buddy:

Welcome to the forum.
Anyways, to view and edit RAW, you usually are best using photoshop or lightroom, since they do so well natively editing that stuff, but if you're looking for something free, try out Picasa, it should be able to edit stuff up if I remember correctly.
It can do small edits yes. I only use it because I have CS2, which does not support the RAW format that the Nikon D3000 makes according to what I found only CS4+ support it. :saddowns:

Also pretty girl daijitsu, I dig that dress.
A few old ones, just out and about.
I'm thinking of getting a "walk around" bag for my dslr. Something where I can have my camera ready without lugging around my 10 pound gear bag.

These look pretty handy.

Im thinking of ordering one very soon for hiking.
I don't know, there's just something I liked about the red against all those tans and browns. Taken during a walk about in C.London today with some friends, all my photos are really rushed because my battery was about to die at any second, and I had forgotten my spare. :smith:. Saw this really nice violinist but only one photo of her wasn't blurry, and she's turned away. :smithicide:

New York covered in smoke. Just got into photography, I need a new lense for far away shots, 55mm won't cut it. Can someone help me getting clear shots during the night time? I have a night mode on my camera but it is a portrait mode, meaning there has to be a subject to focus on, rather than a night landscape. So how would I set the shutter and aperture in order to take nice night time photos?

you need to use a tripod for night shots, unless you want to set the ISO at a high level but this will severely reduce the quality of the image (unless you're using a D3S which is unlikely)

Well, you need a fairly long exposure and a tripod or any other homemade device to keep your dslr from not moving.
Set it to manual. Use an exposure of maybe 10 seconds(could be longer or shorter) and set your aperture to something like f11(the higher the number here, like f18 or f22, the more of your scene is in focus. an aperture of f2.8 would give you a small area that is in focus which would be good for portraits and stuff, but not for landscape and scenery.)
Just experiment with this and you will be fine.
