Here's another photo, I'm not sure what kind of plant this was, my mom had just finished watering the garden, and i saw the perfect shot.

I have been into photography for about a year, these are just a few quick ones. And sorry for the large size of the photos.
I'm thinking of getting a "walk around" bag for my dslr. Something where I can have my camera ready without lugging around my 10 pound gear bag.

It's really just a man purse, but I was wondering if anyone here had a better suggestion.
I carry one of these around when I'm out with a DSLR. It fits a XT with a 28-135 quite well with a little space on top. It is extremely sturdy and never felt like it was gonna pop open at any time even with just the velcro. Not really sure how you'll feel about the shape but I'm fine with it. If anyone questions your masculinity, just show them your lens ;)

Anyways, my contribution. Taken with a S90

Would look better cropped IMO.
Just to let anyone who was wondering about a camera bag know that my Lowepro Slingshot 100 AW arrived today and its pretty cool, my D40 fits nicely inside and I could snuggly fit my Sigma 75-300 mm lens in. They say there isn't any place for a tripod on this one but I think there are a few places I could hang my extendable tripod off. I've only got one more compartment in the main section free now and for now I have my lens shroud in it, however with it not there I think I would be able to fit a flash and another lens so theres a lot of space for me. and If I was desperate I could always throw something in the top compartment but for now I have my ipod touch and a bottle of water in there. There's also a front compartment with loads of room for memory cards, I've got my phone in there and when my 16gb memory card arrives it will also be going in there.
Just letting you know.

I would say though that if you have a lot of equipment to go with the bigger versions of the slingshot like the 200 the 202 or the 300 series if you have masses of stuff to carry around. This one is perfect for me though as its small and light so its pretty easy to carry around.
Personally I don't think these are too great but I've gotten a lot of positive feedback and I'd like some C&C from you guys.

I feel that the glowing circle gives a sense of subject isolation.
[sp]I just pulled that out of my ass you're probably right[/sp]

NO! The picture does not need to be cropped! Not at all! As you put it yourself, the glowing circle really gives the picture a nice balance and isolation of the firework!
Love the panoramas.
And resize, HPD user, god damn. :argh:
Just spent some hours on making a simple portfolio.
I'm not good with html or making websites at all, but I like the simplicity myself!

Well, after spending quite a long time in the Gmod forum, I finally got around to here. I've always been a photographer, so I might as well start posting here:

Wow I love your car photos. Great work.
I've been wanting to start doing photography seriously for a while now. I tried a while ago with a shitty point-and-shoot, which really didn't make it.
In a couple of weeks I will recieve the paycheck for my summerjob though, and was thinking of spending it on a good camera.
What would you reccomend? I was thinking of an EOS of some kind.
Whats your budget?

I've always been most successful with the Nikon d50 and D300. I swear by Nikon. Also by Nikon lenses. The lense that comes with the d50 is absalutly fantastic wide angle lense (18-55). Highly reccomended. It is responsible for the bird picture I posted above, and many others I havent gotten around to posting, like some fancy water blur ones. ( most photoupload sites dont like them because they are in TIF format, and for whatever reason I havent installed Photoshop on my new laptop)

Yeah I agree with this guy, I'd recommend one of the entry level nikons, their lenses can be expensive though but the kit lens (the 18-55) is excellent. I currently have a D40 which is just perfect for me but I'll probably upgrade in the future to a more professional Nikon.
I love Nikon. I like the ergonomics of the camera (physically and in the menu system). Nikon can be quite a bit more expensive at the lower end of the spectrum.

Same, i love my D40, however id love to upgrade to a D90. I just wish the default lense, 18-55 reached a little big farther.
These was taken at The Holocaust - Memorial at Legion of Honor in San Francisco.. Then I edited them

Wow, incredible. Did you use HDR in this ? How did you get the eyes so deep and reflective ?
Hey FP, I'm a cheapskate. Would a Vivicam 8690 do me any good at all?
