Someone should make a competition. My direct area is very boring so I need some inspiration for something to capture. It doesn't have to be a hard competition, just one that has a clear goal on what to capture.

The deadline for the current one was last night.
Prepare to see some shots from someone who's an idiot about photography. These were all taken with my father's old Canon AE-1 35mm after which I raped them with Photoshop actions I found over at Deviantart. First one is actually pretty cool.
they were basically all communists and thus they wanted to fuck the sys (which was fair cause it was pretty boring and shit back then) some of it worked and some of it didn't and subsequently corbusier's legacy is a 3 decade long worldwide phenomenon of almost universally despised hideous concrete boxes lacking in character and often becoming the very centres of poverty and depravation like the slums they were designed to replace
either you didn't get my joke or this is a large troll :v:
I checked some old foto's and i saw that i actually photographed a... DOUBLE RAINDOW DUN DUN DUUUN...

djshox: I actually really like the look. I love "older photos." Isn't that camera from like the 70's - 80's? I also have an old SLR from the 80's a Minolta XG1. The second image and the picture of the girl are a tad too noisy though but the rest I adore. Mosquito: Double rainbow! Rated optimistic. When I saw a double rainbow the other day I did the exact same thing as you from that video on YT. :buddy:
I should bust out my AE-1 Autoprogram, I've still never put a roll of film through it.

Watching a seminar at siggraph on calibrating slr sensors. Interesting stuff, I'll post a link to the recording of it when it's up later this week.
Sadly it was only there a few seconds before it went behind clouds, so I didn't get time to change settings to stop over exposure on the moon. :eng99: Maybe I should photoshop the moon texture in though that feels like cheating.

I've done this on some of my moon photos. a couple of these threads ago there was some huge debate about whether or not to photoshop out powerlines. the photo looked a lot better without them, but some people raised a stink about manipulating the pictures. which I think cuts the creative process of photography short. unless you're shooting journalism, there's no reason to be afraid of photoshop.
Now if only I was good enough at photoshop to make a decent moon surface that was believable. :v: Guess I will have to try sometime. [editline]01:39AM[/editline] Decided to try now, added a surface using a picture off of Google. C&C appreciated. :h:
Looks real enough. I wouldn't be the wiser.
It's 1:22 AM, I'm halfway through a timelapse with my D40 and my netbook as an intervalometer. I just stuck my tripod out on my deck and ran the usb cable through a crack in my door. There is a 40% of rain, so I have to stay up with the whole setup until dawn. I'll be sure to post the results when I'm done.

Just plug in your D5000 to a PC and download DIY Photobits if you're willing to give it a shot. For editing just download Windows Live Movie Maker and set the time of each frame to .04 for a 24fps video. edit- Just remembered the D5000 has a built in intervalometer.

I just got my Canon 7D :D Eventhough I ordered a 8GB 60mb/s UDMA card and got a regular 8GB 30mb/s card, it's awesome! It's recharging right now but i'll take some pictures when I go out with the dog later on. Can't wait to try it out(I got a 50mm 1.8 with it btw)

It's a shame you hate photography, as they're quite nice pictures.
