I have a Nikon D5000. Do you have any suggestions for taking portraits like yours? Your subject is so crisp and the skin tone is very nice looking, and I can't seem to achieve anything like that.

It may be the 35mm lens, which cost around £180, but most of it is just the post processing I do using lightroom. I used a split tone effect on this shot which may be why the skin tone looks nice.

Haha, it's awesome because I'm actually a few streets away from the Canary Wharf station. The Jubilee Line is so nice, Waterloo-Canary Wharf is the best section of The Underground. I'd recommend anyone staying in London at least ride the this portion once (it's amazing).

They're both kind of lacking composure. The panda one is strange because the background is completely white while the actual panda isn't very interesting or pleasing to the eye. And the plant is just a plant. It's a bit overexposed too.

What do you mean by lacking composure?

HBO is airing a special right now called "Smash his Camera." It's about Ron Galella, who was the one of the first paparazzi. Unlike the modern day paparazzi, and why I was so fascinated by it, he actually has artistic talent and photographic knowledge.

The one above the cloud photo was taken with a point and shoot I lost a few months ago. I'm planning on starting photography again, but all the school work I had to catch up with really slowed my photo workflow down by a lot.

the first tip is always photograph in raw and the second is to never and I mean NEVER use png only jpeg when you are compiling a photo fixed up in Photoshop.
