It's hard to keep this 365 interesting, but I'm dedicated to it.
latirCole, do you use natural light in your portraits?
Most of the time yes, i do but i also have an old fashioned umbrella thing

You take a lot of pictures of your home / inside, maybe you should find some beautiful place outside.
Or is the 365 only inside photography?

Thanks for the help. It's a very obvious solution, just it's not always convenient to make time everyday to go out and take pictures. The 365 isn't limited to anything, its just the 'best' looking shot I've taken that day.
I have gone about to take pictures, but there isn't much around here (poor excuse, I know). I could [should] 'dig deeper' and find cool stuff around town but it will all eventually merge into the same thing like my pictures are doing now around the house. Taking pictures around here will either get you mugged or arrested.
I'm hoping this is just a slump, but it really feels like I'm out of mojo.
I've decided I'm going to force myself to carry the camera out everywhere and not just leaving it in my car.

Just went on an intense 6am ride in the hilly side of town. I need a new rear tire. Took a break and snapped in RAW so I could play around with colors in PS. I like the desaturation with heavy black.
I just got my first camera 5 days ago and was curious if any of these shots were actually good, friends trying to be friends and saying there amazing and what not. I would like a real opinion. I've taking a liking to marco photography.

I should mention that all of these were taken with the kit lens (18-55 mm)
They are much better than the average snapshots, which would invoke an 'amazing!' reaction out of your peers. When people aren't exposed to photography first hand, its much easier for shots to be more striking to your audience. It's like the first time you see someone do a burnout in your neighborhood versus going to a drag strip everyday. /social commentary
-------------
My personal favorite out of those four shots is the last one. The composition is only slightly off (see: rule of thirds). It has a subject that stands out, and aside from being a cliche photo (personal opinion) its interesting enough.
The first one is bland and empty. It's got an interesting design to whatever that is, but the photo itself is not aesthetically pleasing.
The second one is a little too abstract for me. The composition is once again only slightly off. Not sure what I'm looking at though, something wooden obviously.
The third one is good, its just a little empty. It lacks depth, its a very 'flat' photo. Interesting? Yes. Seen it before? A million times.
-------------
Just a small warning (this is based on my personal opinion), don't get too absorbed into the macro. I have two reasons for this;
1. Macro is an easy way to get 'interesting' shots. I do appreciate really creative macro though, so I don't rule it out completely. It just comes off as a crutch to me.
2. It's best to get as much diverse experience as you can before you even consider deciding on any sort of genre or style of shooting. You will only delay the growth of your skills.

I have a feeling this simple guide will fill you in on what I'm rambling about.
all real macro work is done with small apertures.
just that you can get dof doesn't mean to make it paper-thin (applies to you fucking videographers)

6/365, have been too lazy for a while lol
Yes I forgot to mention, there is too much out of focus area in Airdoo's photos. It gives off the feeling of a hand in your face. A smaller aperture will relieve this.
Evilking I like that. I feel like it would be improved if you had more emphasis on a subject. It feels like a screen-shot from a game or something. Its a brilliant photo don't get me wrong, but something like a person standing on the rocks a few feet in front of you would give it 'life'.

Thank you, I mean it too, a real opinion that isn't like "pro shot" I was actually hoping for a composition critique (It hard to compose a shot when you're holding the lens separate from the body, imo) And I forgot to label what everything was so here it is, the first shot is of violin bow hair, the second a violin bridge, third some type of grass and the last being a leaf with a drop of water on it, which I thought was the blandest/ most unoriginal of them all. And I will try to take less of the macros, I have a trip coming up that will probably give me more experience with regular photography. Thanks again.

The DOF was unintentional, it came from the lens hack I was using.

WHOA, deja vu. I just saw a pac man cabinet earlier today at this little tucked away antique shop.

I got my camera on December 25th, 2008. I was 12 then, and am now 14. I really want to get into photography, and I'm hoping it's not just something I'll want for a while and then get over. I know way less about photography than I probably should, and I judge my pictures based on how "pretty" or "nice" they look, which isn't quite professional at all. So, It'd be really nice to have some professional tips and constructive criticism from someone who knows there stuff. Thanks, in return.
They are all great shots. A little cliche, but still great. I like the sunset one.
There isn't too much I can tell you in the form of constructive criticism, but they are visually appealing yet aren't really that interesting.
Click here to read some criticism I gave someone last page. There's a link at the end I think you should read.

Not quite creative enough, but I managed to get this angry guy to stand still for some photos:

Thanks! Does anybody have some C&C?
Your skill level exceeds the average facepuncher's ability to critique photographically. Myself included. I can't find anything wrong with them. Maybe it's time to join a dedicated photography forum?

long time friend of mine Bryan Wood has lately been landing some phenomenal gigs in the central Florida club scene dropping some insane mixes and just generally ripping giant holes into peoples perception of what the fuck they should be getting the fuck down to in a night club, their car, their living rooms, and where ever ears work.

first pic has the corner in the cabinet top burned out and it slightly annoys me, try to even it down a notch (underexpose and fuck with photoshop), but it's a good spot to have the brightest spot, hdr would look good on that photo
second looks like it has very dull colours, I'd try to make it BW or put the saturation to "rockwell"
3rd is very good, maybe adjust some horizon or shit but w/e
4th is decent but nothing special
the last photos look a bit blurry, did you use tripod / stabilize the camera to a wall or shit? And I'd add a lot of saturation to them (just imho)
(I'd also try to get a shot with a very long shutter time if I had the tripod to make the ferris wheel look like an even circle)
6th looks too flat, it doesn't have the "punch" that leads the eyes etc... try to look things with one eye only / through the camera finder so you can see what it would look in the picture.

Yeah that bugs me about them, I had no tripod so I had to kinda prop the camera up against the railing on the pier to try and keep it steady.
