Do you really think It's that extreme? Just because I wear black glasses and a shirt?
I guess you haven't seen a real hipster before..
Kinda meant bopie
So TH89 was a bitch and banned me for warez even though I never implied it...
HOWEVER! I must 'kinda' thank him since it got me out of the house and try photography a little bit more.

I did what others have been saying as in 'point and shoot' so I got out my camera, focused in a sec, then shot the picture.

Well the shot isn't good to be honest. It's blurry, the plant doesn't seem to be entirely in focus, it's unbalanced, and quite a boring shot.
As far as fixing it, try and get the camera to take the shot faster by raising the ISO (I assume you are taking this shot with a point and shoot digital camera and don't have control over other settings). ISO controls how sensitive the sensor is to light. The higher the ISO the brighter the shot. This will make the camera compensate by raising the shutter speed which will make the plant less blurry (although I'm not sure if it just isn't blurred because it's out of focus or not).
Also work on the composition of the shot. There is that gray object (pole?) next to the plant which distracts you from the plant. Also, it isn't a very interesting shot to begin with. Just a straight up shot of a plant isn't going to catch the attention of the audience. Try and get something more creative out of it.
Edthefirst you are the king at constructive criticism!
Thanks for that... I think...
Yeah it was early in the morning and its a decent camera... its one of those in the 200-300 dollar range cameras. Still learning how to use it so this is all new to me. I thought about the pole but was just like "eeh fuck it" I just wanted to see if I could get the settings right but I guess not. I need to check it more.
Really really like the golfing ones. I think the second golf one is perfect. The first one seems like it's falling over (the curve of the ground coupled with the man slightly right of center).
The car one is also over-exposed.

Thank you. I see what you mean about the falling, but rotating the photo would make him fall,
and a crop would destroy it. Would focus on the golfer in the second photo make it even better ?
Oh and when I have your attention, your thoughts on this:

I think the second golf picture is fine the way it is.
^ I like that picture. Nothing really much to say on it
A done a bit of a product shoot today for TAFE, and with a bit of PP I turned it into a Promotional Poster.

The only thing that bothers me is the custom refill job, it just feels a little off.
the refill feels forced because there's no feel of 'glass'. There's thickness to the bottle, but you ignored those parts. Let me mock up a quick fill with some thickness added to the glass-

use a large, soft, low opacity (15% I used) eraser (or white paintbrush with same settings on a different layer if you want) to remove some of the layer you used to colorize the empty space. Bring out areas that should naturally be lit up by the background (notice the bottom of the bottle is washed out from this), and highlight curves and such to give depth. Also watch out for things like reflections that shouldn't be affected by color so much.
Also bopie, ya gotta avoid split-toning everything. It looks cool in small doses, but it's like a dessert. Can't eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner :buddy:

Yeah I see what you mean, I'll give it a go. Thanks.

So I started college again recently, and my tutor told me they used one of my photos as a gift to the principal of the college who was leaving. He handwrote me a letter telling me how much of a lovely picture it was.
I was surprised, they didn't ask my permission (Not that I cared) and also cos it was a picture I didn't consider to have much artistic value in comparison to my other photos.
But he seemed to like it, so i'm sure that's something.
